Behringer U Control UCA202 USB Audio Interface Review

Behringer U Control UCA202 USB Audio Interface
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This thing is great. I needed to bypass my crappy soundcard on my PC in order to record high quality stereo audio onto my computer for a podcast. I had just shelled out $80 for the Inport Deluxe package from Xitel, which is basically a little analog-audio-to-USB adapter box similar to this, with a long audio cable and some bad software thrown in to justify the steep pricetag. Luckily I saved the receipt on the Inport and was able to take it back after discovering this item, which you can find for about $30 all over the internet.
The UCA202 has a headphone jack with a volume control so you can monitor what's being recorded to your computer, as you record it. Just be aware that you won't be able to listen to the playback from your audio recording software through your computer's monitor speakers unless you unplug this device from your USB port first, and there is no warning about this in the manual, which is why the 4 star review instead of 5. On some review sites there seemed to be confusion about what drivers were required to work with this device, but the first page of the manual states clearly that you don't need any drivers. I am running Windows XP and was able to just plug and play, no drivers needed, audio is loud and clear. By the way this is not a paid endorsement or anything, I just wanted to spare someone else a lot of the research time that I spent by saying, go ahead and get it.
Oh and of course you do need a good audio recording software like ProTools, Sound Forge, or Cubase to do a decent job of recording audio on your computer and letting you edit it and manipulate it with professional sounding results. If you are recording audio from a turntable (digitizing your LP collection) don't forget that you need some sort of preamp or tuner amp between the phonograph and this device. The output straight out of your turntable is too weak a signal to drive this device.
A grateful shout-out and mad props for this device go the Germans at Behringer, who designed it.

Behringer DJX750 Pro Mixer Professional 5-Channel DJ Mixer with Advanced Digital Effects And BPM Counter Review

I think I was a little ignorant in thinking that a 4 channel mixer would only be around 250 dollars. If you want something that works then go for it. But if you want buttons, knobs that look like they won't break any minute, and are tight and fit. This is not for you. i was disappointed, because you can't really see that until you have it in your hands.

Need an analog DJ mixer for your dance club? Don't want to settle for some run-of-the-mill DJ desk you'll outgrow in just a few weeks? The new PRO MIXER DJX750 DJ Mixer merges intuitive operation with built-in digital effects processing for clean, transparent sound that will set your dance floor on fire! Because your voice is your instrument, the DJX750 features a dedicated mic channel with all the tools to make your sound supremely distinctive. Vocal fine-tuning is handled by the onboard 3-band EQ, which provides up to 15 dB of boost or cut at LOW (80 Hz), MID (2.5 k), and HIGH (12 kHz) frequency centers--creating an extremely broad tonal palette.

Not Just a DJX700 Dressed in Black! DJs the world over love the DJX700, so when Behringer began design on the DJX750, they had to do something very special. They started by revving up the FX processor and putting advanced parameter control right at your fingertips.
No longer are you confined to rigid presets that limit your creativity. With the DJX750, you can change FX parameters on-the-fly, pushing your performance to the next level. In no time you'll be creating powerful sets with your own custom-tailored effects sounds, all of which can be controlled in real-time. Some parameters at your disposal include Bit Crusher depth, manual filter sweeps, Panning (LFO Rate), delay/echo time and much more. You can even set delay and echo timing relative to the internal BPM counter for extremely musical results. It is kinda like a DJX700--but one on steroids!
Really good digital effects add the finishing touch to a solid performance, and ours are really good! With 33 outstanding effects to choose from, including an assortment of Phase Shifters, Flangers, Reverbs, Delays and more, your audience won't know what hit them. There are even Auto Filter and Voice Changer effects that will take your show to a whole new level.
Channels Galore Because your voice is your instrument, the DJX750 features a dedicated mic channel with all the tools to make your sound supremely distinctive. Vocal fine-tuning is handled by the onboard 3-band EQ, which provides up to 15 dB of boost or cut at LOW (80 Hz), MID (2.5 k), and HIGH (12 kHz) frequency centers--creating an extremely broad tonal palette. The DJX750's stereo channels' EQ utilize the same frequency centers with a boost of up to 12 dB and a cut of as much as -32dB. These channels are equipped to handle every conceivable input source--from line level, phono, CD and tape decks to mp3 and minidisk players, Behringer's got you covered.
Auto Ducking DJX750's talkover function automatically detects your voice and brings down the volume of the music track (referred to as "ducking"), so your voice is always out front--you can even set this level to your own personal preference. Auto BPM Counter Sync'ing up tracks is an art unto itself--that's why Behringer gave the DJX750 dual Auto BPM Counters. This cool feature helps take the guess work out of making a smooth transition from one track to the next. Each BPM counter's digital display shows which channel it is tracking and the tempo of the music in beats per minute. Optionally, you can push the Beat Assist button in time with the song to manually enter the tempo. You get a read out of the tempo difference between the tracks, as well as a visual confirmation when they are in sync. These tools will help you seamlessly align two tracks--without having to rely solely on your ears.
Crossfader & Channel Faders All of our super-smooth faders are of the high-grade 45-mm ULTRAGLIDE variety. Faders are, after all, the heart and soul of every mixer, and with their 500,000 cycle life expectancy (that's 275 fades per night, per fader for five years without a break!), they outperform standard faders more than twenty-to-one. And since the crossfader uses VCA (Voltage Controlled Amplifier) technology, there is virtually no audio noise. For those of you who prefer customized crossfading, the DJX750 also includes our CF Curve control, which lets you set the crossfader's control characteristic just the way you like it. It is, after all, your show!
XPQ 3D Making music larger than life is what it's all about and the DJX750 comes through on this in a big way. XPQ 3D Surround widens the stereo field, giving it immense depth and a stereo image that is full of life, with amazingly transparent sound. You determine the intensity of this stunning effect with a simple twist of the Surround control--from barely noticeable to supremely spectacular.
Sound Quality None of the above-mentioned features would amount to much if the DJX750 didn't sound truly remarkable. That's why Behringer equips each one with our tried-and-true ULN (Ultra Low-Noise) preamps: what comes in comes out, with nothing added. So you get maximum headroom, extremely low noise and ultra-transparent sound. Compare it to the competition for sound quality, features and value and you'll see why more and more DJs "own the night" with their Behringer DJX750.
Monitor Multi-Tasking You can't put on much of a show if you can't hear what you're mixing! That's why Behringer didn't cut any corners on DJX750's monitor section. When the monitor Mode switch is in the "Split" position, you hear the PFL (Pre-Fader Level) output on the left side of your phones, and the Master signal on your right. If you prefer working in "Stereo" mode, you can turn the MIX control fully counterclockwise to hear the channel PFL signal in both sides of your headphones, fully clockwise for the Master output, or you can "mix" both signals by adjusting the control to anywhere in-between. You can listen to one or multiple sources, and LEDs light up to indicate what you're listening to.

Great little pedal for delay. Not a lot of fine tuning controls but enough to get it right without too many complicated knobs. If you get this you won't need the slap echo or reverb of Danelctro because the short delay sounds exactly like them.

Behringer HPX2500 High-definition DJ Headphones Review

Behringer HPX2500 High-definition DJ Headphones
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have never heard of the Berhringer brand until seeing its headphones in an Amazon Lightning Deal yesterday. In picture, the HPX2500 looked pretty good for a pair of twenty-something-dollar headphones. Seeing the actual product and using it for sometime, I deem it an excellent headphone for the money. I'll rate its quality at 8.5 out of 10. The headphone jack and cord use a lot heavier gauge materials then the competition. Berhringer is a maker of studio musical equipment. If you would like to know more about it, just Google it. There is a pretty informative article on it in Wikipedia. There is even YouTube videos about its huge factories in China.
You should be aware that because the HPX2500 is NOT a closed-type headphone, there is little to no sound isolation. In other words, if there is some sound in the environment, you will hear it. Conversely, others will be able to hear what you are listening, albeit at much reduced volume. This is called an open-type headphone. IMO, open-type headphones seem to offer better clarity. On the other hand, closed-type may offer more bass. What you listen to most should be the deciding factor in selecting open or closed headphone design.

Behringer DDM4000 - DJ Mixer Review

Behringer DDM4000 - DJ Mixer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This mixer weighs about 2 pounds regardless of what the actual weight says on the box. My DDM 4000 was broke when I opened the box. I could hear parts rattling around when I picked it up. The DDM4000 is a cheap knock off of the pioneer DJM800 because of the midi connection and the similar features. The quality is absolutely horrible and I would not recumbent this mixer to anyone weather an beginner or pro dj. This is by far the worst dj product that I have ever bought. This product is straight weak and we should ship all of these mixers back to Germany and cut their products off until they can create a product with at least the quality of a numark product. Do not buy this mixer. Own 7 mixers from all different brands and I love them all. I know features and I know quality. It is very rare that a company will create a product that has both and this mixer is a perfect example of that. Get a Rane, pioneer, or high end Numark. Save your money with this crap.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of these headphones. I have owned many different styles and brands of headphones in the past and to reach the quality of these one would expect to pay quite alot more than these. The Bass response is unbelievable, High end is crisp and clear. I use them mainly with my computer and the sound is excellent. I can only imagine how they would sound thru a true stereo. If your looking for a great set of headphones believe me, you dont have to pay alot to get great quality. You will be impressed.
UPDATE ON HEADPHONES
I purchased these back in jan of 05, and as of July 5, 2006 they are still going strong!! They still work as good as they did the day i recvd them. WOW.. in this day and age.. anything that lasts this long is worth the money....The price of these headphones are still unbelievable!!

The PRO MIXER DJX700 is a professional 5-channel DJ mixer with great features for club-worn veterans and starry-eyed newbies alike.

Five-Channel DJ Mixer The DJX700 features four dual input stereo channels, and 1 ULN microphone channel with "on air" switch. A dedicated effects loop is ideal for connection of external devices (sampler, reverb processor etc.), and the adjustable crossfader curve lets you adjust for all mixing styles.
Three-Band Kill EQ Dial it in with a three-band kill EQ (-32 dB) and precise level meters with peak hold function on each channel.
ULTRAGLIDE Faders The faders are the heart and soul of every mixer. With their 500,000 cycles life expectancy, Behringer's high-grade 45-mm ULTRAGLIDE faders outperform standard faders more than twenty-fold. VCA (Voltage Controlled Amplifier) technology goes hand in hand with our faders--audio signal does not run directly through them; instead, the faders only provide a control voltage to the VCAs. The advantage: practically no audio noise caused by mechanical wear.
Built-In Digital Effects Your crowd will be astounded by the 47 breathtaking digital effect presets in 24-bit quality: delay, reverb, flanger, filter, panner, ultrabass, exciter, Vinylizer, voice changer and more. Your audience will be astounded, but they'll never have to know your secret.
Track-Matching Tools Matching tracks is an art in itself. It takes countless nights of practice before you can truly say you have it under your belt. With the intelligent BPM counter, Behringer take a lot of the guesswork out. Features like SYNC LOCK and BEAT ASSIST help you seamlessly align two tracks without having to rely solely on your ears.
Surround Function Behringer also gives you the awesome XPQ 3D surround function. It widens the stereo image and adds life and transparency to your sound--it's a great way to put a unique finishing touch to your sound and make it feel bigger and wider.
Low-Noise Preamps You work either with CDs or vinyl--sometimes both--and they all induce their own noise into the mix. The last thing you want is to pile even more mixer-originated noise on top of that. That's why all of Behringer's DJ mixers incorporate the improved ULN (Ultra Low-Noise) preamps: what comes in comes out, with nothing added. So you get maximum headroom, minimal noise and ultra-transparent sound.

bought these speakers on a different account for use as stage monitors for a local High School. Overall I am really impressed with the quality. Would consider buying another pair if needed. Also you get 2 speakers which is an amazing deal. However would only recommend these for monitors not for regular PA speakers. I am genuinely impressed. Also just to add extra info the also have an output built into the speakers.

I bough them directly from the company several months ago, I gotta tell you, at the price I paid these woofers (119 bucks hello) surpassed my expectations in build quality and in the quality of materials, this isn't just some cheap woofer speaker this is a professional audio sub woofer that will rock the bottom end of your world yes, I would recommend these woofers to anybody who needs some woofers with these spec's anytime, I'd purchase more from Seismic in a heartbeat if I needed them.. did I mention that these guys also have a free shipping policy on about everything they sell? It's not cheap to ship a 20 - 30 pound swoofer so add another 20 - 30 dollar benefit in with dealing with these folks.. I won't get into technicalities. I will say this, I got tired of the computer crashes(rare but there). I purchased the Denon DN-x900 without any reviews being out there...being a Denon, I took a chance on the product and don't regret it. It's cheaper then the pioneer version and fits perfectly in my flight case(19" mixer cavity). Since I mix mp3 and video files, I use a lot of resources on my laptop for my portable gigs. This mixer allows me to plug my cd decks on separate channels as well as use time codes on my pc(cd decks have dual outputs) without a fuss. I control the treble, mids, and bass and kill any one of them. I can plug 2 microphones and multiple speakers/monitors(in case your own speakers don't allow daisy chaining[my current setup]). I could go on and on, the point, quality mixer with quality sound output for the mobile DJ(or small club/bar atmosphere) at a fraction of the pioneer counterpart. Best part, if you are aggressive with your faders, you can replace them.

I use this item for a virtual DJ setup with my technics 1200's and finalscratch time coded vinyls @ 125grams. I also use groovemaster IIrm and IIpro which suites my needs for beatmixing. This was my last piece of DJ equipment to complete my setup. Don't be fooled by the usb...it boast a latency under 10ms depending on PC configuration. I bought mine on ebay for 105. make sure you use TS to rca cables when you connect your preamp from your turntables to you quattro. you have to use all the channels for it to work with all virtual dj software. kudos to m-audio, they know whats up

M-Audio's Quattro USB audio interface is perfect for any application that requires high-quality audio as well as portability and/or compactness, such as tight studio spaces. The Quattro provides four .25-inch TRS analog audio inputs and four analog audio outputs in the ASIO (Audio Stream Input/Output) format and two in/out in Windows MME (multimedia extensions) or when using the Macintosh Sound Manager. It also offers a front-panel 1 x 1 MIDI port.High-performance, 24-bit/96 kHz analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters ensure faithful reproduction coming and going, and all audio inputs and outputs are switchable between balanced (+4 dBu) and unbalanced (-10 dBV) operation to accommodate professional and consumer devices--and to work between them. Each 1/4-inch jack will accept either TRS or TS 1/4-inch plugs. You may connect the output of a line-level instrument such as an electronic keyboard or instrument preamp, the output of a microphone preamp (a mic preamp is required for use with a microphone), or the output of a CD player or similar line-level device. The Quattro lets you record at any sampling rate that your recording software will allow, up to 96 kHz at 24-bit resolution. You can also work at 16 or 24 bits with a sampling rate of 48 kHz or less. An ASIO control panel comes with your driver software, which lets you set the Quattro to its different operating modes. If you are not using ASIO or otherwise wish to monitor the signal at the Quattro inputs, a convenient direct/monitor switch bypasses the computer so you can directly monitor the input signal present at the Quattro. When all four input and output stereo pairs (two input pairs and two output pairs) are enabled, the Quattro will operate in 16-bit mode at either the 44.1k or 48k sampling rates. With three stereo pairs enabled, i.e., either one input and two output pairs or two input and one output pair, the Quattro will operate at 48 kHz sampling rate or lower, and at either 24- or 16-bit. When one stereo pair is enabled and in 24-bit mode, the Quattro will operate at the 96 kHz sampling rate or lower. You may connect the four outputs of the Quattro to a mixing console, or use two of the outputs for a stereo send to a monitoring system (power amp and speakers, or a home stereo), powered speakers, or a headphone amplifier. The Quattro can be your only MIDI device, or it can be used in conjunction with as many other MIDI devices in your system as your music program allows.
Additionally, the Quattro can be used in conjunction with M-Audio's Omni I/O desktop recording system (not included). The Omni will add two microphone/instrument preamplifiers to the Quattro inputs, and a mixer to the Quattro outputs. The Omni will let you blend MIDI keyboards with audio tracks, add effects to the Quattro outputs, and control monitor and headphone levels while mixing down. What's in the Box Quattro USB audio interface, one (1) USB cable, one (1) 9V AC 1,000mA power supply, one (1) driver disk containing drivers and additional software, and a user's manual.Note: It's usually possible to connect multiple devices to your USB port through the addition of a USB hub. The Quattro, however, requires all of the bandwidth that is available to the USB port, and therefore it is required that you plug the Quattro directly into your computer's USB port, and not into a USB hub with other USB devices. MIDI operation on Macintosh computers requires the OMS MIDI Manager from Opcode, which must be installed prior to the installation of the Quattro drivers.
