bought these speakers on a different account for use as stage monitors for a local High School. Overall I am really impressed with the quality. Would consider buying another pair if needed. Also you get 2 speakers which is an amazing deal. However would only recommend these for monitors not for regular PA speakers. I am genuinely impressed. Also just to add extra info the also have an output built into the speakers.

B-52 Matrix-1000 V2 700W Active 3-Piece Speaker System Review

Bought my first Matrix 2000 in 2005 and it is tops in the competitive environment. I'm #1 booked as a DJ in part because of my sound gear. The woofer, although heavy, pumps, and is loved among my college party clients and wedding reception party people. I would have to double the price to upgrade noticeably in sound quality. After caring for it (in operations and in transport), the subwoofer went out (after nearly 6 years). I liked the fact that the satellite speakers (although not as great by themselves) kept my mission moving at a high school gig. I went with purchase of a new Matrix 2000. I'm sold, and it will be a good investment for your business.

JBL MRX525 15-Inch Premium 350-Watt Two-Way Portable Loudspeaker Review

I have a live sound company. I have a small trailer and no employees. I cater to the local scene and have even worked shows with international touring bands. I need to have lightweight yet good sounding speakers. NO, these are not as nice as the JBL SRX series or some of the other pro cabinets BUT...Everybody loves how they sound. I have four of these cabs and mate them to EAW LA400 subs. Yes-I know people say you don't need a sub with these but yes, you do. I run a lot of metal and hardcore shows and subs are essential. Maybe for acoustic shows you can get away without subs..but I always have them.
I run my system in stereo and power these cabs with a Crown XTi 4000 amp. Each set gets an XTi amp. These speakers really like to be turned up. For a smaller room with less screaming metal needs you may want to go with the smaller MRX cabs. I also have a set of those.
Most reviews tell how great the speaker sounds, the highs, the tasty lows. Honestly, so much depends on the room and the way the PA is tuned. Great equipment sounds bad when set up improperly. My board is one of the following: Allen & Heath GL2400, Presonus Live,or a small Mackie. I also use a DriveRack for processing. With proper set-up these speakers will cut through the stage sound and push the vocals through the metal mayhem. I have also used them at acoustic shows and yes they do sound sweet. I could spend more money on SRX cabs and someday I might. But right now these cabs work great because they are not power-hungry and don't need monster 20-amp amplifiers or a three-way system. They are very light and easy to carry. Lastly, they sound great and people constantly compliment me on the sound. If you want to move up from more generic cabs..you won't be disappointed. DJ, metal, acoustic, trance, worship..I have done it all!

Tapco Thump TH-15A 15 Two-Way Active SR Loudspeaker Review

I like it. I wouldn't buy another one.
Contradictory, right? I bought one of these as a quick and simple stage monitor, and it did its job well. Especially for the price. But I wouldn't buy another one, as there are some issues.
As a powered speaker, it has lots of features; XLR in and out(thru), gain knob with 3 band graphic eq, modular cabinet for tilting on its side OR standing (like an EON does), very lightweight.
However, there are some quality issues. And I don't think its manufacturing flaws, either. The metal grill on mine doesn't completely enclose the speaker. In fact, there's enough of a gap to get a finger in there and get really cut up by the grill. I removed it to see if it was warped somehow, but it wasn't. it just seemed to not quite fit.
Also, something in the circuitry is adding a noticeable level of distortion to the sound production at modest -to -low levels. I've hooked it up to many components and mixers, and the static distortion is still there, so it must be something in its electronics. The compression horn also tends to sound a bit 'whistly' in the low-to-medium volume.
However, under a loud load, it performs well in the medium-to-loud. The distortion is less noticeable, the dispersion of the horn is good.
All in all, a very good value, and a good entry-level product. Personally, I've outgrown its qualities, and its lack of build quality.-EDIT-
Since I last wrote this review, the price of this item has gone up significantly to the point where I will say its not a good value anymore. For this price, at least a Behringer or a Harbinger has better fit-and-finish.

PRO'S:
I DEMOED THESE AT MY LOCAL RETAIL SHOP AND LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING... THESE ARE BY FAR THE BEST SOUNDING SET UP I HAVE HEARD IN MY LIFE!!! I LOVE BASS HEAVY MUSIC FROM ROCK, UK HARD HOUSE, HARD TRANCE... AND RAP. USUALLY SPEAKERS HAVE A CERTAIN "TYPE" OF MUSIC THAT THEY ARE GOOD FOR. ACCORDINGLY YOU BUY THE SYSTEM AND TRY TO COME CLOSE TO WHICH EVER TYPE YOU LIKE. WELL THERE IS NO COMPROMISE WITH THESE "BAD BOYS" THEY WILL DISH OUT CLEANNNN!!! SOUND NO MATTER WHAT TYPE OF MUSIC YOU THROW AT IT. I DEMOED MANY DIFFERENT TYPE OF SONGS FROM RAP, HARD UK, 80'S AND SOME FLAMINGO JAZZ. I WAS BLOWN AWAY AT THE CLEARITY OF THE SUBS. I STOOD AT THE STORE TRYING TO FIND SOME KIND OF MUSIC MATERIAL THAT DID NOT SOUND GOOD ON THESE BUT 1 AND HALF HOURS LATER I WAS SOLD THAT THESE ARE HEAVEN SENT. THEY PUT OUT MUSICAL NOTES NOT BUMP,THUMP AND THUD... EVERY BASS NOTE IS ARTICULATED DETAILED AS I EVER HEARD BEFORE. I'VE STOPPED DROOLING NOW AND CAN'T WAIT FOR MY SET TO ARRIVE... PS ALL THE POWER YOU NEED TO RUN THE SYSTEM IS CONTAINED IN THE SUBWOOFER CABINET. JUST HOOK UP THE XLR'S FROM YOU MIXER AND THE SUBWOOFER BRANCES OUT TO THE (2) 12" MONITORS WITH A TITANIUM MID AND TWEET SET UP... 1200 WATTS TOTAL (2)300 GOING TO THE MONITORS AND (1)600 RUNNING THE BASS!!!
CONS:
AFTER EXPERIENCING THE DETAIL AND CLARITY IN BASS YOU WILL NOTICE THE FLAWS IN OTHER SPEAKER SET UPS BY OTHER COMPANIES. HOPE MY REVIEW IS HELPFULL THANK YOU "DJ M N S"

This system has nice power and is very good especially for outside activities. I like the IPod docking station and the multiple line inputs. Although I like the sound and the fact that it is portable, I found the wireless mic to be of poor quality. Be prepared to provide your own quality mic. This is a nice product for a reasonable price.
