Pyle 800 Watt Powered 12" Two-Way Plastic Molded Loudspeaker Review

(More customer reviews)This powered speaker has its definate pluses: It's light and perfect for the acoustic player who likes to get in and out of the gig without the need for an appointment with the Chiropractor the next day.
More importantly, its dynamic quality is also suited for the acoustic performer, as it really embellishes the "nicer" tones of the acoustic/electric guitar, and is ideal for vocals, having great lower and higher mid response. High freq. response is also very good. Lows (around 70-60 Hz) can get a little "dicey" or muddy though.
Cons: The front grill seems to vibrate to certain low freq.s (very annoying, still working on it, and don't know if it's only on my unit or a flaw of design). If you're in a full rock band,like I am, it can be used as a monitor. However, it didn't seem to cut it with enough volume.
Overall, very good sound for mains for a duo or single act. Price is unbeatable, and size and weight is very managable.

(More customer reviews)bought these for my son who plays guitars, electric drums, clarnet so he can practice with his friends. I wanted speakers good enough for average house - small but powerfull. Speakers are very good with the exeption of two issues: 1) too small to reproduce bass drum; 2)with gain control on the back of the speaker starting with 50% level you can hear hissing noise from tweeter - if you use these with low output instruments this could be a problem (we use mackie 1202vlz3 so speaker gain level stays at 25%)

Would consider buying another pair if needed. Also you get 2 speakers which is an amazing deal. However would only recommend these for monitors not for regular PA speakers. I am genuinely impressed. Also just to add extra info the also have an output built into the speakers.

I mean you get what you pay for, it's a bit under powered but I'm sure it will get the job done on my up coming gig. One thing I dislike is that it's very sensitive so if you turn the volume up on your mixer the 15' subwoofer will give out a mumbling sound. This setup ideal for small gigs.

Mackie Thump TH-15A 2-Way Powered Loudspeaker Review

(More customer reviews)I have now had my Mackies for about four months. For me they are perfect (so far).My partner and I have a "midi assisted" duo" and play small to medium size clubs each week. I have been using a pair if Behringer active 12 inch speakers on stands for a few years and a Peavey cabinet driven by a separate power amp. The lows were not really clear on the Peavey cabinet (with a JBL speaker in it) driven by a QSC amp. I am replaceing it with the Mackie Thumps. The lows are now very clear and it has quite a bit of power (more than I need right now).That eliminates carrying the heavy Peavey cabinet and the QSC power amp I was lugging around.
The Mackie is actually a bit lighter than my much smaller Behringer speakers. So far I am very pleased. A few weeks ago we played a very large room going 50/50 with a DJ who also used our system. We were playing for several hundred people (300-400). The Mackies worked great. No break up or distortion and I was pleased that I never had to turn them up more than half way. Great purchase at a great price.
(FYI Note: One reviewer wrote that "Mackie bought Tapco". Tapco stands for Technical Audio Products Company a company which was founded by Greg Mackie in 1969. In 1977 he left Tapco after selling TAPCO Corp. to Electro Voice. Mackie started another company called Audio Control that only lasted a few years. Greg Mackie started Mackie Designs in 1988. By 2003 Mackie also started making mixers under the old TAPCO name once again. The first mixer in 2003, was the Tapco 6306 which actually came out as "Tapco by Mackie". The bottom line is Mackie didn't buy Tapco (the name was no longer in use), Greg Mackie just started using his old company's name on some modals made by Mackie Corp.Tapco equipment is designed and run today by the 1969 founder and designer of the original Tapco line. I often suspect that the TAPCO name is used to test market some Mackie gear. TAPCO Thumps were out about two years before they stopped making them under that name and started calling them Mackie Thumps.)

(More customer reviews)Ok this is what i can honestly say about these speakers, first the price is very affordable and the sound is actually very clear. these are not as loud as some of the
more expensive JBL, EV, etc. but for the money they are a great bang for the buck. now one thing i can tell you is that they are not for a party that will have more than 200 people indoors and even less outdoors. Now what they do do well is very clear sound and with a pair of subs you can get them to play louder. I've been using them for a wile now and they have not let me down. i will be buying another pair to daisy chain them all for larger venues

(More customer reviews)Purchased two of the B215D speakers for live gigs. I run vocal, guitar, synth and two drum machines through this system and the sound blows me away. I tried the 15" EONs, but the drums would cause them to clip at larger gigs. What a bargin...these Behringers are half the price of EONs and have a better sound that can handle higher volumes. I first tried the the B212D (12" speakers), but the 15" speakers (B215D) added a lot of bottom to my sound which is needed for the drum machines. Don't give it a second thought, just stop lookin'...and start cookin' with a set of these bad boys. Lots of compliments on my new sound from my repeat customers.
