(More customer reviews)This powered speaker has its definate pluses: It's light and perfect for the acoustic player who likes to get in and out of the gig without the need for an appointment with the Chiropractor the next day.
More importantly, its dynamic quality is also suited for the acoustic performer, as it really embellishes the "nicer" tones of the acoustic/electric guitar, and is ideal for vocals, having great lower and higher mid response. High freq. response is also very good. Lows (around 70-60 Hz) can get a little "dicey" or muddy though.
Cons: The front grill seems to vibrate to certain low freq.s (very annoying, still working on it, and don't know if it's only on my unit or a flaw of design). If you're in a full rock band,like I am, it can be used as a monitor. However, it didn't seem to cut it with enough volume.
Overall, very good sound for mains for a duo or single act. Price is unbeatable, and size and weight is very managable.

American Audio SPS1B Black Tri Pod Speaker Stand Review

(More customer reviews)I think this stand is a great value. I just want to add some notes that aren't in the product description. From the photo, it looks like there's a flange a few inches from the top. I imagined that maybe this was a reversible piece to handle 1-3/8" or 1-1/2" speakers, but no. This is a 1-3/8" speaker stand. The top part of the picture and the flange are the piece that you install into your speaker. It might just work as an adapter, but I can't say. The problem with that is that the flange and hat just rest on the stand by gravity. You're supposed to screw the flange into the speaker. My speaker is a heavy 44-pound amp, Behringer K900FX 90-Watt 3-Channel PA System, and it comes with a stand connector built-in to the bottom, so I don't use the flange at all.

MA Audio PA380X Pair 600W 8" 3-Way Pro PA DJ Studio Monitor Speakers Review

I've been designing and making speaker cabinets with Pro-audio components since the late 60's.
As an Engineer I expect technical specs to always be accurate if they bother to place them.
The Woofer has a 1" voice coil not 2" as claimed by the distributor.
Next to P-audio speakers of 99 DB/watt sensitivity, these are dwarfed.
Next to a 20year old home Marantz 90DB/Watt, they sound harsh and about the same level.
The only crossover component is 1 capacitor on the midrange, no lowpass except
the voice coil's inductance for the woofer. NOT Pro audio!
Just correct the specs, I'll stop my complaints. Verify the magnet's weight too.

(More customer reviews)Ok well i bought this set because it came with all on the pic. they sound really good i mean you cant hear the blast of this 10's inside a hall but outside come on u know u need 15's the set up on this is fast the only thing i didnt like is that u payed for the bag to carry the tripods in but guess what IT COMES WITH A FREE BAG already so basicly u get 2 bags but no biggie ill use that bag maybe when i buy my 15's and buy tripods for them too. i did a party a week ago(july 2010) and the ppl where so surpriced that my self powerd 10's sounded so loud that i got lots of complements the only reason i gave this buy a 4 is because of the extra tripod bag u get(and pay 4) its not needed.

I used a Pro Audio 1100 amp and a IMAXX D.J. ipod dock for my drummer son's talent show in front of 600 people.The ipod dock worked very well with lots of usable features.The volume on 5 was a good solid sound. They handled bass very well.The grills are thin but shouldn't ever be a problem.Glad I found these. As always dealing with Amazon has always been a pleasure. Shipping was very fast and packaged well.

I have not yet been able to use their full potential with just singing in my living room, but am looking forward to seeing what they will do when I use them in a larger space like our community hall. 4 Stars for now, but they may indeed warrant a 5th after the volume is turned up.
