(More customer reviews)Bought one speaker PPHP1098A from Amazon/The Price Pros and it works excellent. For the value of what I paid for this item and shipping charges, its worth getting this speaker. In the picture they show Grey molded plastic but actually is black glossy. 10" Speaker versus 15" , easier to carry around.
Hooked up speaker right out of the box and maxed it out as loud as it could get, sounds great at high volume. Also you need Male XLR cables which are easy to hook up to this speaker.

also it doesn't mention here that it has a built in L.E.D. light for over heating purposes.
for DJ's on a budget, I would recommend buying this brand because JBL & Mackie brands are more expensive. also easy to carry around from gig to gig.
So if your on a fixed budget,Please try these Speakers.
Will use this brand till something else comes along.

MA Audio PA380X Pair 600W 8" 3-Way Pro PA DJ Studio Monitor Speakers Review

I've been designing and making speaker cabinets with Pro-audio components since the late 60's.
As an Engineer I expect technical specs to always be accurate if they bother to place them.
The Woofer has a 1" voice coil not 2" as claimed by the distributor.
Next to P-audio speakers of 99 DB/watt sensitivity, these are dwarfed.
Next to a 20year old home Marantz 90DB/Watt, they sound harsh and about the same level.
The only crossover component is 1 capacitor on the midrange, no lowpass except
the voice coil's inductance for the woofer. NOT Pro audio!
Just correct the specs, I'll stop my complaints. Verify the magnet's weight too.

Mackie Thump TH-15A 2-Way Powered Loudspeaker (Single Speaker) Review

(More customer reviews)These speakers are clean, clear powerful. Very tight and clean bass (no low end "mud". The speakers have a very useable eq section. They have low impedence in and outs that make joining two or more of these (or other active speakers) as easy as plugging in another low impedence mic cable and going to another speaker. This keeps the signal clean and you don't need to utilize additional outputs on your mixer.
The sound is great. I have owned a pair of Behringer (B212) active speakers and a JBL 15 inch speaker in a cabinet driven by a QSC amp for a few years and have generally been pleased with the sound but I was looking for more natural, punchier low end (and I hate lugging the very heavy QSC amp). These Mackie speakers have the sound I was looking for and are actually lighter than my smaller Behringer speakers. I am now useing the Behringers on stands with the Mackies on the floor (I leave the QSC and JBL cab home). It is a very big sound.
Note: After I bought one of these to try, I had trouble getting a second one. Everbody I contacted from Musicinsfriend, Sweetwater and Guitar Center, were all out out of stock and waiting for backorders. Don't be surprised if you hear this when buying these. They are currently a very in demand item. The price on these does not vary much and $350.00 is the going price across the board.
