When I saw the price for this new mixer, the M-164UF for $349, 50% off, I couldn't resist buying it to replace our M-Audio NRV-10 which never worked well.
I ordered the product from Amazon and waited for the expedited shipping which took 4 days. The product came, and... it was the wrong model. OK, I'm now irritated.
I call Musician's Friend and they argued about what I ordered though my Amazon order clearly stated the m-164UF. Finally he agreed and argued that the price was incorrect. Not exactly my problem since Amazon posted the price and usually the vendor enters it.
After numerous times putting me on hold he comes back and offers an RMA number. I had to ask if they would replace the wrong one with the right one ordered and honor the price. He said, "Yes" but only when prompted. Then the new mixer would only be shipped AFTER the wrong one was sent back. We're a corporation, not an individual and thought this was rather untrustworthy. He finally sort of apologized for the inconvenience, and it was inconvenient since we had planned several recording that had to be postponed.
All in all, Musician's Friend left a lot to be desired... But please, beware of the price you see here as it may or may not be honored.

Hercules DJ Control Steel Review

(More customer reviews)I love my Hercules RMX, but as my shows are getting bigger I'm starting to produce some of my music and using more effects so I switched to the Steel. I love this mixer as I can program up to 12 effects and works great as a video mixer without paying the $6 grand for the pioneer. If I get that big, maybe I will cough up the money for the pioneer, for now this is under $250 and works great. I may one day get an effects controller to plug into my denon, for now this is the best of both worlds.

Protec LARGE MIXER PRO PAC (18 X 18 X 5) Review

(More customer reviews)I received my mixer bag today. After looking it over I'm very pleased with it's quality, durability, features and design. Not to mention that the price was fantastic too at $31.61. This item is worth all of that.
I wanted some protection for my mixer to go to gigs with. Mind you, if I were going to have very heavy usage, road warrior travel or airplane rides I would have opted for a top notch hardshell case. But all I need is just some decent protection and so the mixer is not exposed to the elements.
This case really fits the bill. What I love is that it is not just a bag; it does have a fairly hard shell frame on the sides, like a suitcase and is padded decently. It's got a nice big pocket for cords and does have a detachable carry strap. You can also get a backpack strap for it and it has loops sewn onto the back to make it backpackable. It also has little interior pockets for small items and pen holders. Not to mention the MP3 player pocket on the side with a hole to fish your headphone wire through so you could listen while the player is in the bag. Another clever design is that they have a velcro tab on the top zipper edge that you can hide the zipper ends under so they won't slide open during transport.
I was afraid my mixer would be too small for the bag but inside is a velcro strap to help tie it down better. I just put the shorter front edge of the mixer touching the bottom side panel and then the velcro strap can be swung around to the back (higher)edge input side of the mixer, pinninng it in place so it can't float around in the bag. My mixer is a about 14 1/2" X 16" so this leaves me about 3 1/2" of space on the top handle side of the case. This is perfect for my two microphones, one in a small padded bag and one in it's box. They slide in the empty space perfectly and hold everything in place even more securely. The material and zippers seem good and tough. Be sure to unzip the case completely around to the back edge before fully opening the top as it may put strain on the zipper when completely opening the lid.
Be aware that the shorter sides have a bit better protection than the larger surfaces (Top & Bottom). You shouldn't lay the bag down on it's back and pile heavy gear on it or anything. The mixer would be more apt to suffer damage to the control panel sliders if something heavy were dropped on it or it suffered a hard blow to the top center of the bag. It travels and stores better just the way it is shown with the handle oriented at the top like a suitcase.
To me this is bag is an awesome value for the price and I highly recommend it.

Yamaha MG82CX 8 Input Stereo Mixer with Digital Effects Review

(More customer reviews)I host a monthly Open Mic in Pasadena, at Jones Coffee, a small warehouse space. For the past 10 months I had been using a Behringer Eurorack mixer, which is about the same size as this one, also with 8-ins. Before that, I used a spirit folio, which is a tiny bit smaller. I connect the mixer to 2 Behringer powered speakers. Using this set up, I could handle 3 mics, a couple guitar-ins or a guitar and a keyboard.

A few of my performers would occasionally request reverb on the mics, but I didn't want the hassle of bringing in an aux effects unit and patching it in. I figured the acoustics of the warehouse space provided sufficient reverb. At the same time, I found it challenging to get a decent sound - I could barely get the (Shure) mics loud enough to make the vocals audible without sounding muddy and overamplified, or feeding back.
So I bought a Yamaha MG82CX a couple weeks ago, and used it for last night's Open Mic event. Wow! What a difference! This was the
best sounding event I've hosted. Two features made a big difference: The built-in compression made the vocals sound much better
and more audible - I kept the knobs at about the 1/3 to halfway mark. And the built-in reverb helped make the vocals and some of
the acoustic guitar parts sound wonderful. The trick is not to overuse it. The unit has about half a dozen different reverb
effects - the one I liked the best is called "Vocal Echo".
If you get the optional mounting hardware (I already had a BMS10A mount which I had used with a Yamaha Stagepas PA, and which
also works with this), you can mount the mixer on a mic stand. I found this very convenient.

If you're also evaluating the Yamaha Stagepas, it's not that great by the way. Since the amp powers the speakers, it is designed
with a cooling fan, which on my unit is quite loud. And the built-in reverb on the Stagepas sounds terrible, as compared to the higher quality effects on this unit. Much better to get one of these, and connect it to powered speakers.

Mixvibes UMIX44 DJ Package Review

(More customer reviews)I decided to buy this product to monitor tracks while mixing, my laptop could only deliver one output. The product met expectations as now I have the RCA output cable to my amplifier and monitor on my headphones.
The only bad thing is that the sound card seems to have an issue when loading tracks as the music gets frequent cuts every time you load a track. Have not found the root cause of the problem. I have adjusted the buffering level and it has improved. Still need to work with it a little more to figure out the problem.
In general OK. Have not tried any of the input channels which I believe are of great value.

(More customer reviews)I absolutely love this machine! Vestax VCI 300 is not a toy inasmuch an extremely well built, professional looking, all in 1, plug & play DJ Controller. The high quality adjustable tension platters are precise and have a good turntable-like feel. The faders also feel well and are positioned nicely. The Serato Itch program is very comprehensively laid out, uncomplicated, and held up for 6+ straight hours of glitch free dj'ing! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because Serato Itch has no effects and does not read WMA files. I hope the final version of Serato upgrade software will! Very good investment indeed, the days of the turntable may indeed be numbered!

Features:
The 4.5 Hp motor most powerful in the game super fast start up. Never misses a beat or cue. The pack in Stanton 680 HP cartridge is a plus get's you up and running quick and sounds great. The straight arm is solid. The Pitch controls on the STR-8 is awesome you can even do Screw mixes. Reverse is great cool to use. Simple plug and play stylus light is practical and easy to change if needed And it's digital outs makes it cool for any studio application
Ease of Use:
Very easy right out the box operation! It's turntable for Dj's
Sound: Sounds great with the Stanton 680 Hp which I use on the turntable regularly.
Overall:
After 30 years of being a Dj/Producer I left the industry standard Technics 1200 for the STR-8 and I can say I'm not missing the 1200's at all

Numark MIXTRACK DJ Software Controller Review

the link on accident looking at other DJ products. I went to the Numark
website and read more about this Dj Controller. I then went to Youtube
and watched a couple videos on it. I then came here to Amazon to purchase
it the same day after finding out about it.
I've used a lot of Dj controllers before. At Parties, Clubs, Weddings ect.
I always found the more expensive controllers to have the best features. But
with the Mixtrack....I am proven wrong. This controller ranks up there with the
best in my opinion. When I compare this to great controllers like The VCI-300,
The NS7, The Mixdeck, ect. You with this Dj controller can't go wrong. You're
getting a $150.00 Dj controller with all the features Dj's look for, at an affordable
price! With this you're getting a more real time djing feel. You're getting
nice Dj platters/jogwheels, effects, editing tools and a good program. This is
a perfect tool to have on those days you dj a gig. But don't want to bring your
regular djing equipment. Also if your a beginner looking to learn the art of
being a Disk Jockey. This is the right product to learn on.
With this controller, you would need to get an audio sound card. To be able to
hear what your doing with headphones. Native Instruments the same company that
makes the included Traktor program. Has a sound card called the Audio2Dj and Numark has the DjIo Sound card. There are other sound cards available also. The Mixtrack is premapped for use with all Traktor djing programs (Traktor Cue and Traktor Pro) and other approved djing software and hardware. Bottomline is this thing is made to perform and can hold it's own with the big boys. Numark has really outdone themselves with the Mixtrack, and with the success of the NS7, V7, and Mixdeck. Numark can go ahead and add this to the list of accomplishments.
Intermediate and Advanced Dj's can get enjoyment out of this product. Speaking as a Dj myself, using this has not made me miss hot days in the garage mixing it up on my acoustic djing equipment. Now I got something I can use and take with me on the go and use anytime. Not to say this is going to make me stop using my SL1200's and DJM 600. But now I got another option till I get my Numark Mixdeck. Numark has also came out with the IDJ3 which is a similar controller. But it has an Ipod
dock, and has a built in headphone jack and mic output. The IDJ3 cost $300 but has all of the same great features as the Mixtrack. So to end this, I recommend the Numark Mixtrack to everyone that wants to either learn, entertain ect. A very great Dj Midi Controller for an even more amazing price!

(More customer reviews)I previously bought the icdmix2 and returned to get this unit which is far superior. It is a small size, relatively light and portable. The displays are clear and accurate. Two cd bays allow you to cue songs up while one is playing. The iPod dock allows songs to be played from an iPod or iPhone, and also don't forget if you have a pandora app or Sirius radio app, you can listen to these as well. I use mackie m5 speakers with this and it sounds great. You will Need powered speakers or monitors. I would suggest powered compact monitors, there are many to chose from and they sound great. If you go to guitar center they will let you listen to them first.

It's a great bag to store your controller and keep it safe from dust and accidental spills. Also it's well padded so it can survive a drop or objects dropping on it. And you can also flip the top cover, insert it in the gig bag, and then place the Kontrol X1 on top of it, which will raise the controller to mixer level. This is actually a very nice and handy feature, it allows for easier access to your Kontrol X1 while you mix.
