Numark iCDMIX 3 Dual MP3/CD Performance System with Universal Dock Review

Numark iCDMIX 3 Dual MP3/CD Performance System with Universal Dock
Average Reviews:

I previously bought the icdmix2 and returned to get this unit which is far superior. It is a small size, relatively light and portable. The displays are clear and accurate. Two cd bays allow you to cue songs up while one is playing. The iPod dock allows songs to be played from an iPod or iPhone, and also don't forget if you have a pandora app or Sirius radio app, you can listen to these as well. I use mackie m5 speakers with this and it sounds great. You will Need powered speakers or monitors. I would suggest powered compact monitors, there are many to chose from and they sound great. If you go to guitar center they will let you listen to them first.

I have had this awesome toy for a few years and have thoroughy enjoyed making some of the most unique music and sound ever. It is a great reliable piece of equipment to own if you are serious about dj-ing or just experimenting and having fun. I have listed my product to sell but it only shows up under the "All" tab instead of the "used" tab for some reason. So check it out and enjoy.

The PRO MIXER DJX700 is a professional 5-channel DJ mixer with great features for club-worn veterans and starry-eyed newbies alike.

Five-Channel DJ Mixer The DJX700 features four dual input stereo channels, and 1 ULN microphone channel with "on air" switch. A dedicated effects loop is ideal for connection of external devices (sampler, reverb processor etc.), and the adjustable crossfader curve lets you adjust for all mixing styles.
Three-Band Kill EQ Dial it in with a three-band kill EQ (-32 dB) and precise level meters with peak hold function on each channel.
ULTRAGLIDE Faders The faders are the heart and soul of every mixer. With their 500,000 cycles life expectancy, Behringer's high-grade 45-mm ULTRAGLIDE faders outperform standard faders more than twenty-fold. VCA (Voltage Controlled Amplifier) technology goes hand in hand with our faders--audio signal does not run directly through them; instead, the faders only provide a control voltage to the VCAs. The advantage: practically no audio noise caused by mechanical wear.
Built-In Digital Effects Your crowd will be astounded by the 47 breathtaking digital effect presets in 24-bit quality: delay, reverb, flanger, filter, panner, ultrabass, exciter, Vinylizer, voice changer and more. Your audience will be astounded, but they'll never have to know your secret.
Track-Matching Tools Matching tracks is an art in itself. It takes countless nights of practice before you can truly say you have it under your belt. With the intelligent BPM counter, Behringer take a lot of the guesswork out. Features like SYNC LOCK and BEAT ASSIST help you seamlessly align two tracks without having to rely solely on your ears.
Surround Function Behringer also gives you the awesome XPQ 3D surround function. It widens the stereo image and adds life and transparency to your sound--it's a great way to put a unique finishing touch to your sound and make it feel bigger and wider.
Low-Noise Preamps You work either with CDs or vinyl--sometimes both--and they all induce their own noise into the mix. The last thing you want is to pile even more mixer-originated noise on top of that. That's why all of Behringer's DJ mixers incorporate the improved ULN (Ultra Low-Noise) preamps: what comes in comes out, with nothing added. So you get maximum headroom, minimal noise and ultra-transparent sound.

Pioneer DJM-5000 Professional Standard Mobile DJ Mixer Review

Pioneer DJM-5000 Professional Standard Mobile DJ Mixer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
As a mobile DJ I needed something with good functionality and portability and I found that with the DJM-5000. Rather than talking about general features I will highlight some of the things that make this mixer unique and why I love it. First, if you are using a laptop to DJ or even as a backup like I do, you can connect directly with the mixer via USB. The mixer acts as an external speaker and the volume is controlled directly through the sliders. I use my computer on channel 4 and have had great results. There are also multiple controls per channel- not only do you have the slider bar but also a dial to control the sound so you can adjust per song without having to adjust the master volume. Another great thing about this mixer is the mic talkover- with mic's 1 and 2 you have the option of using talkover so you never have to stop your music. You can also control the percentage that the volume is cut by a dial. I keep my wireless mics on all night and use the power button on the mixer to cut the sound. This is really great at weddings when the bridal party may not know how to turn on your microphone. Unfortunately it seems that mic 1 is intended for a wired mic because the input is on the top of the mixer rather than the back but that is my only complaint!

Numark iDec A/V Playback and Recording Rack Interface for iPod Review

Numark iDec A/V Playback and Recording Rack Interface for iPod
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'm writing this review as I can't find but one review on the IDEC anywhere on the web. We have several racks which we use for commercial audio applications and home use. I've used Ipods almost exclusively for location playback music but found that connecting it to a mixer to be a pain. We own several types of Ipods, and they've all been great, but we usually use a Nano as it allows a playlist to crossfade. (I haven't noticed that the others have that capability). If we run the system in Mono it means coming out of the Nano with a cable going to a splitter and then combining the signals into one input to go into the board. If in stereo it's just coming out of the Nano to a splitter and going into the board. If you run the system for hours at a time charging a Nano can be a challenge as the audio connector is too close to the charging connector (without using a Monster adapter, etc.) or hauling in a dock of some sort. Also the Nano's display while not illuminated is hard to see in some environments, so if you run the background display constantly you run the battery down quicker. To try and remedy all this, I purchased a Numark "Fit for Sound". In doing so I have a clean way of connecting the Nano, charging it, keeping it illuminated and operating the controls. Numark's Fit for Sound is the predecessor of the IDEC (?) but it is playback only and has both RCA and XLR connectors, and was supposedly designed for use in gyms and fitness centers (and has an infrared remote). Anyway, I purchased one and installed it into one of my racks. Voila (!) I had the perfect solution for having the Ipod in a stable rack-mounted device which charges, provides audio and the controls perform exactly as the controls are on the Ipod. (No more fumbling with an Ipod in a dock and worrying about getting the unit out of the dock or possibly damaging the connector, etc. all while running sound at a location.) I liked it so much I put it in my rack at home (so again I'm without a solution for a location rack...so I needed another one). The IDEC will probably provide the same performance as the Fit for Sound as it looks identical with the exception of possibly no infrared remote, and not having the XLR and will only have RCA connectors (no biggie). The recording aspect is also a benefit, but be aware that not all Ipods will do voice recording, and I've found by using external microphones on Ipods and through the use of recording interfaces by other companies the Ipods (which have moving hard drives, such as the full size Ipods we own) create a slight background noise for 10 seconds or so every few minutes as (I think) this is when the audio data is being written to the drive. I believe this is something internal to the Ipod and not associated with a recording interface, but I've not recorded with the IDEC so I don't know the exact cause or remedy. I don't think most folks notice this as the noise is like a slight whine and I notice it as I'm using some higher-end headphones and listen for any issues. No one else has brought this to my attention and it's not readily noticed unless you're doing something where there is a lapse in the audio, such as between words being spoken (if recording a sermon) or between songs where you use an Ipod as a recording device. I don't know this is the case with all Ipods or with Nanos (which reportedly don't have moving hard drives) or will be associated with the IDEC, but my guess is this has more to do with the Ipod than the recording interface. I found the price on Amazon for the IDEC with shipping is the lowest I've found on the web, and I'm looking forward to using it both as a playback and recording device. The Fit for Sound device (is identical except for being white in color) is basically bulletproof, solid, reliable and well built. The IDEC should be just as good and probably before all is said and done I'll have one in each of my racks. You can think of it as a super-dooper, bulletproof Ipod dock which mounts on a rack and provides a safe, reliable, and clean way to run an Ipod with the added benefit of being able to record and that probably sums up what the IDEC is all about. It's the answer to what many of us have really needed and wished someone came up with a long time ago. I hope this review helps.

Pioneer DJM-400 Pro Dj Mixer Review

Pioneer DJM-400 Pro Dj Mixer

For any dj that is trying to figure out what to get, look no further.
The DJM-400 is hands down one of the best mixers an amateur can get a hold of. It has most of the features of the higher end DJMs, but with a lot less confusion.
It's very simple to start with the 400. 2 channels, cross fader, eq...
It even comes with several effects, all of which are processed at a high quality and sound amazing, even when you crank the effect level up all the way.
It's built like a tank, but it sure is a lovely sight to look at.
For the dj on the rise, i recomend you get one of these, and a pair of CDJ-400 and you will be all set to rock out a killer set.

The entry-level Pioneer DJM-400 mixer with an all-digital mixing bus (24bit/96kHz) features seven onboard effects, including the all new In-Loop Sampler. It matches Pioneer's CDJ-200 CD turntable in both function and design, allowing DJs to expand the range of DJing and remixing. And its symmetrical design is the same size as a CDJ-200, enabling an easy fit in a compact DJ coffin.

An intelligent 24bit/96kHz sampler automatically detects the tempo of a song during playback, sampling it for a length of 4 beats then loops the sample. Since the sampled sound is in sync with the beat of the tune being played, no matter the tempo, it enables live remixing like never before. Samples are automatically stretched and compressed to match the beat. The DJM-400 stores five samples onboard for a total of 12 seconds of sample time.

Onboard effects automatically detect the beats per minute of the music and sync to the beats. The DJM-400 includes seven onboard effects: Delay, Echo, Filter, Flanger, Phaser, Robot and Roll. All effects are processed at 24bits for the highest quality sound. A new Beat Select button allows more intuitive and aggressive DJ playing and remixing. Each channel has 3-band isolator EQ with full cut capability. The EQ ranges from +9dB to -∞ (infinity) for total control of the sound.

Pioneer DJM 600 DJ Mixer 4 Channel Review

Pioneer DJM 600 DJ Mixer 4 Channel
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Pioneer DJ Pro mixer DJM600 is a latest offering by the Japanese electronic giant. After the very successful predecessor (The Superstar DJM500) of this series, Pioneer has added some more new features on this mixer. For e.g. The Auto BPM Counter offers a lot more flexibility of use since in DJM 600 it measures t he range from 70-139 / 91-180 / 71-180 or even a Manual option. Another outstanding feature is the STRETCH LOOP PLAY, which can be adjusted to extend or shorten the sample from the mixed track. However, the sampling time is only 8 Secs which may look like a limitation to many DJs. Other basic but useful features includes an EQUALIZER, which has low/mid/high settings for each channel. AUTO BEAT SAMPLER is another function which is new for this series, however this feature was first introduced by Gemini in their PS series mixers. Also, the ABS record time is too short (only 6 Secs). There is no doubt replace the workaholic DJM 500 in clubs, but one thing to remember is that like DJM 500, this mixer works/used best if attached with Pioneer's CDJ series Professional CD players. As always, the Pioneer quality is superb and it is built like robust equipment to handle all the hard use.

Pioneer CDJ-200 Pro Cd/Mp3 Player Review

Pioneer CDJ-200 Pro Cd/Mp3 Player
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Many places (usually DJ phedophile type) label these players as entry level professional. You WILL think differently UNLESS you DJ in clubs! In my mind, these are professional players if you dont scratch, everything is there for you.
The build quality is excellent, solid robust, and use oil damping. Trust me oil damping shock makes a different, shake these things while theyre playing, they wont skip!
Auto cue and loop is excellent, plus manual in out and loop effects make this a really excellent machine for house breaks and playing your own mixes. To do a test, I auto looped 2 tracks both 128bp, synced using the BPP and tempo functions of the players, played both players through a mixer for 15 minutes, they never missed sync! very accurate BPM and tempo. And this was AUTO loop! imagine with manual, you have even more precision.
BPM is always an issue, due to its accuracy (some BPM counters are a gimmic, ie behringer VXM mixers! )however the BPM here performs very well, the players for the quality, are at an unbelievable price.
the MP3 function is great too, get 100 tracks on a cd instead of carrying your collection to a function, in 7 cd cases (like me!)
plus they fully read MP3 tags, what more do you want?
Wah, Jet, and zip effects are really nice, as is the addition of adjusting speed and key of a track
All round great players
Ive been a DJ for 17 years, seen everything come and go, theres no surprising these players are so popular!
awesome!

Stanton S.300 Tabletop CD Player with MP3 Compatibility Review

Stanton S.300 Tabletop CD Player with MP3 Compatibility
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This Stanton S.300 Tabletop CD Player with MP3 Compatibility is superb in every way.
Last week I purchased a Stanton S252 DJ Table-Top CD Player with Fader Start and Digital Outputs with which I am also completely satisfied (I refer you to my review of the S.252 for details of its features, controls, etc. which, as they are quite similar to this model, I shall not repeat here; see below for a few differences) but this S.300 is even better in that it also plays MP3 discs as well as CDs. I have a number of audio books, on multiple CDs, which I have converted to MP3 files and placed on single CD-ROMs. I have also done the same with some opera recordings. I prefer to take these copies when I travel (leaving the multiple-disc originals at home); it is much more convenient (much less to carry) and safer (if I lose or damage a copy, it's not a tragedy!).
Other than the MP3 capability and one change of a control button (a very welcome change: instead of a [redundant] Loop button there is now a +10 button which jumps 10 tracks, very useful for MP3 discs), the S.300 player operates essentially the same as the S.252. The display is slightly different on the S.300 (and somewhat better, in my opinion, but the difference is minor) and the 'default' is to play the entire disc rather than, as on the S.252, to default to playing just one track (the selection of disc playback, single track or continuous, is easily changed, with but one 'click,' on both models).
The build-quality is apparently the same on both - and is absolutely, positively, first-rate. And so is the sound quality produced.
(Obviously, however, at this time I cannot comment on longevity; should one or both fail prematurely, I shall report that here.)
I also cannot comment on how a disc jockey (for whom these are primarily designed) would appreciate or use these players nor can I say which he/she would find 'better.' I can only say that, for me, an ordinary music listener, they are both superb players and this one, the S.300, has the advantage of being able to play MP3 discs (NOT MP3s from an external or thumb drive; there is no USB or other audio-in port). Of course it has the disadvantage of being considerably higher in price than the S.252 so, if MP3 disc playback is of no concern to you, I recommend that you consider the S.252.
Both are excellent 'travelers' to take on vacation (they are quite robust) and both models produce sound quality far superior to the so-called portable CD players (the 'cheapies') which you find at Best Buy, Radio Shack, et al.
As for me, I VERY MUCH like them both, I'm glad I bought both, and I highly recommend them both (though, to tell the truth, I myself prefer this S.300 because of its MP3 capability).
===================================================================================================================================
Update: April 25, 2011
There is almost always a pause between tracks when playing MP3 files. If the tracks are between individual songs or individual movements of a piece, this is not a problem.
But when the tracks are split right in the middle of a musical selection, the pause can be very noticeable (and annoying).
This player has just a barely noticeable pause between tracks. In most cases you would have to be listening very carefully in order to hear it.
This is better than even my computer and makes listening to longer symphonies, chamber works, etc., which often do have several tracks within each movement, much more pleasurable.
This is a bonus - and a happy one at that!

What can I say about the new Pioneer CDJ-2000, it's simply AMAZING. I just love the Advanced HID feature linking my platters natively to Serato, I've been waiting some time for that. The platter movement on the CDJ-2000 is much smoother than the CDJ-1000's I had. The versatility of this unit is awesome, you can link up to 4 units together to all get music from a single source!! You can use USB, SD, Laptops, and HD's for music sources not to mention using CD and DVD in Disc form. I haven't even had suffiecient time to scrath the surface on everything these platters can do but from what I've seen in the short time that I've had mine is I can see why they are the "Industry Standard"! Pioneer just keep that technology coming I love it. Never would have dreamed 10-15 years ago that I'd not want to spin vinyl anymore but with everything these babies can do vinyl is my second choice. Don't get me wrong I still love my vinyl but these are way more fun!!!

Ive had these for a while now. They are excelent quality better then the Denon's Dns-5000. The sound quality is clear, the interface is easy to get used to, and the effects are great. It plays both regular cd's, burned cd's and Mp3 cd's. The platter is extremely smooth and accurate so mixing is easy and has 4 diffrent scratch modes. The BPM counter respons right when you put the track and it has the capability to automatically interlock beats between one cdx and another for those who are just starting out. The search wheel is used for both effects(wet\dry) and super fast search.
Pros:
-Great sound
-Easy To Use
-Easy to get used to
-Very well built
-Everything is on cue
Cons:
-A little heavy

A unique solution for DJs who love the feel of vinyl but want to use their CDs for mixing and scratching, the Numark CDX CD turntable literally combines the best of both worlds. Unlike other CD turntables, which merely mimic the construction of traditional record players, the CDX uses a genuine 12-inch record as the controlling interface. In other words, the CDX not only looks like a turntable, but it actually feels like one as well. The CD responds to each movement of the 12-inch record whether you're scratching, battling, or looping, resulting in a DJ experience that harnesses modern digital formats while feeling as smooth and tangible as classic vinyl.
The CDX employs the same ultra-high-torque direct-drive motor as Numark's flagship TTX turntable, with adjustable start and stop times. It's also the same height as traditional turntables, and its dual start/stop buttons reside on either side of the platter, making it easy to position the turntable for "standard" or "battle" use. Among the CDX's shared CD/turntable features are impressive +/- 6, 12, 25, and 100 percent pitch control ranges; a key lock function that keeps vocals and music in the proper key even when the tempo increases dramatically; a built-in beatkeeper that delivers accurate and instant beat-per-minute readouts; and a DSP processor that lets DJs employ such effects as echo, slide, sonar, bleep, and filter--all controlled by a dedicated wheel. DJs can also activate the stutter function to instantly jump around within the track, or they can use the 3,000 cue points when loading a new CD to immediately access specific passages. And thanks to the quick-loading CD slot, DJs can swap out discs in no time at all.
Though Numark supplies a 12-inch LP for the slipmat, any record will do (it's the wheel that controls the CD, not the record). DJs can also synchronize the CDX with drum machines and other MIDI devices due to the MIDI I/O. Additional features include a S/PDIF digital output, a bright VFD display that shows beats per minute, time, and unit status, and anti-shock buffer technology. The CDX measures 17.75 by 3.62 by 14.5 inches (W x H x D) and is covered by a two-year warranty.
