Behringer DJX750 Pro Mixer Professional 5-Channel DJ Mixer with Advanced Digital Effects And BPM Counter Review

I think I was a little ignorant in thinking that a 4 channel mixer would only be around 250 dollars. If you want something that works then go for it. But if you want buttons, knobs that look like they won't break any minute, and are tight and fit. This is not for you. i was disappointed, because you can't really see that until you have it in your hands.

Need an analog DJ mixer for your dance club? Don't want to settle for some run-of-the-mill DJ desk you'll outgrow in just a few weeks? The new PRO MIXER DJX750 DJ Mixer merges intuitive operation with built-in digital effects processing for clean, transparent sound that will set your dance floor on fire! Because your voice is your instrument, the DJX750 features a dedicated mic channel with all the tools to make your sound supremely distinctive. Vocal fine-tuning is handled by the onboard 3-band EQ, which provides up to 15 dB of boost or cut at LOW (80 Hz), MID (2.5 k), and HIGH (12 kHz) frequency centers--creating an extremely broad tonal palette.

Not Just a DJX700 Dressed in Black! DJs the world over love the DJX700, so when Behringer began design on the DJX750, they had to do something very special. They started by revving up the FX processor and putting advanced parameter control right at your fingertips.
No longer are you confined to rigid presets that limit your creativity. With the DJX750, you can change FX parameters on-the-fly, pushing your performance to the next level. In no time you'll be creating powerful sets with your own custom-tailored effects sounds, all of which can be controlled in real-time. Some parameters at your disposal include Bit Crusher depth, manual filter sweeps, Panning (LFO Rate), delay/echo time and much more. You can even set delay and echo timing relative to the internal BPM counter for extremely musical results. It is kinda like a DJX700--but one on steroids!
Really good digital effects add the finishing touch to a solid performance, and ours are really good! With 33 outstanding effects to choose from, including an assortment of Phase Shifters, Flangers, Reverbs, Delays and more, your audience won't know what hit them. There are even Auto Filter and Voice Changer effects that will take your show to a whole new level.
Channels Galore Because your voice is your instrument, the DJX750 features a dedicated mic channel with all the tools to make your sound supremely distinctive. Vocal fine-tuning is handled by the onboard 3-band EQ, which provides up to 15 dB of boost or cut at LOW (80 Hz), MID (2.5 k), and HIGH (12 kHz) frequency centers--creating an extremely broad tonal palette. The DJX750's stereo channels' EQ utilize the same frequency centers with a boost of up to 12 dB and a cut of as much as -32dB. These channels are equipped to handle every conceivable input source--from line level, phono, CD and tape decks to mp3 and minidisk players, Behringer's got you covered.
Auto Ducking DJX750's talkover function automatically detects your voice and brings down the volume of the music track (referred to as "ducking"), so your voice is always out front--you can even set this level to your own personal preference. Auto BPM Counter Sync'ing up tracks is an art unto itself--that's why Behringer gave the DJX750 dual Auto BPM Counters. This cool feature helps take the guess work out of making a smooth transition from one track to the next. Each BPM counter's digital display shows which channel it is tracking and the tempo of the music in beats per minute. Optionally, you can push the Beat Assist button in time with the song to manually enter the tempo. You get a read out of the tempo difference between the tracks, as well as a visual confirmation when they are in sync. These tools will help you seamlessly align two tracks--without having to rely solely on your ears.
Crossfader & Channel Faders All of our super-smooth faders are of the high-grade 45-mm ULTRAGLIDE variety. Faders are, after all, the heart and soul of every mixer, and with their 500,000 cycle life expectancy (that's 275 fades per night, per fader for five years without a break!), they outperform standard faders more than twenty-to-one. And since the crossfader uses VCA (Voltage Controlled Amplifier) technology, there is virtually no audio noise. For those of you who prefer customized crossfading, the DJX750 also includes our CF Curve control, which lets you set the crossfader's control characteristic just the way you like it. It is, after all, your show!
XPQ 3D Making music larger than life is what it's all about and the DJX750 comes through on this in a big way. XPQ 3D Surround widens the stereo field, giving it immense depth and a stereo image that is full of life, with amazingly transparent sound. You determine the intensity of this stunning effect with a simple twist of the Surround control--from barely noticeable to supremely spectacular.
Sound Quality None of the above-mentioned features would amount to much if the DJX750 didn't sound truly remarkable. That's why Behringer equips each one with our tried-and-true ULN (Ultra Low-Noise) preamps: what comes in comes out, with nothing added. So you get maximum headroom, extremely low noise and ultra-transparent sound. Compare it to the competition for sound quality, features and value and you'll see why more and more DJs "own the night" with their Behringer DJX750.
Monitor Multi-Tasking You can't put on much of a show if you can't hear what you're mixing! That's why Behringer didn't cut any corners on DJX750's monitor section. When the monitor Mode switch is in the "Split" position, you hear the PFL (Pre-Fader Level) output on the left side of your phones, and the Master signal on your right. If you prefer working in "Stereo" mode, you can turn the MIX control fully counterclockwise to hear the channel PFL signal in both sides of your headphones, fully clockwise for the Master output, or you can "mix" both signals by adjusting the control to anywhere in-between. You can listen to one or multiple sources, and LEDs light up to indicate what you're listening to.

Pioneer DJM-5000 Professional Standard Mobile DJ Mixer Review

Pioneer DJM-5000 Professional Standard Mobile DJ Mixer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
As a mobile DJ I needed something with good functionality and portability and I found that with the DJM-5000. Rather than talking about general features I will highlight some of the things that make this mixer unique and why I love it. First, if you are using a laptop to DJ or even as a backup like I do, you can connect directly with the mixer via USB. The mixer acts as an external speaker and the volume is controlled directly through the sliders. I use my computer on channel 4 and have had great results. There are also multiple controls per channel- not only do you have the slider bar but also a dial to control the sound so you can adjust per song without having to adjust the master volume. Another great thing about this mixer is the mic talkover- with mic's 1 and 2 you have the option of using talkover so you never have to stop your music. You can also control the percentage that the volume is cut by a dial. I keep my wireless mics on all night and use the power button on the mixer to cut the sound. This is really great at weddings when the bridal party may not know how to turn on your microphone. Unfortunately it seems that mic 1 is intended for a wired mic because the input is on the top of the mixer rather than the back but that is my only complaint!

Pioneer DJM-350 DJM-350 2-Channel DJ Performance Mixer Review

Pioneer DJM-350 DJM-350 2-Channel DJ Performance Mixer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This mixer is a great piece of equipment! Solid structure, exceptional sound output and it really let's you feel it's great quality with it's great sound output. It has four built in effects that are sober but really useful and professional when mixing. The 3 band equalizer allows you to decrease (even to kill) or increase individually the highs, mids and lows, allowing you to perform really seamless mashups and smooth transitions between beats. Also, the mixer has an Auxiliary/Mic input wich allows you to connect a microphone or component and treat the incoming sound with all the available effects. But, this mixer's killer feature is the recording feature which allows you to record any detail of your performance to a USB connected to the mixer into a high quality .wav format file, making it really easy to distribute your mixes and even to give yourself a little feedback of your performance by listening to your own mixes to discover your pros and cons.
Summarizing, this mixer is highly recommended for every DJ, no matter if you are a beginner or a pro, you will find in this mixer a powerful tool for improving your skills and your bussiness.

Pioneer DJM-400 Pro Dj Mixer Review

Pioneer DJM-400 Pro Dj Mixer

For any dj that is trying to figure out what to get, look no further.
The DJM-400 is hands down one of the best mixers an amateur can get a hold of. It has most of the features of the higher end DJMs, but with a lot less confusion.
It's very simple to start with the 400. 2 channels, cross fader, eq...
It even comes with several effects, all of which are processed at a high quality and sound amazing, even when you crank the effect level up all the way.
It's built like a tank, but it sure is a lovely sight to look at.
For the dj on the rise, i recomend you get one of these, and a pair of CDJ-400 and you will be all set to rock out a killer set.

The entry-level Pioneer DJM-400 mixer with an all-digital mixing bus (24bit/96kHz) features seven onboard effects, including the all new In-Loop Sampler. It matches Pioneer's CDJ-200 CD turntable in both function and design, allowing DJs to expand the range of DJing and remixing. And its symmetrical design is the same size as a CDJ-200, enabling an easy fit in a compact DJ coffin.

An intelligent 24bit/96kHz sampler automatically detects the tempo of a song during playback, sampling it for a length of 4 beats then loops the sample. Since the sampled sound is in sync with the beat of the tune being played, no matter the tempo, it enables live remixing like never before. Samples are automatically stretched and compressed to match the beat. The DJM-400 stores five samples onboard for a total of 12 seconds of sample time.

Onboard effects automatically detect the beats per minute of the music and sync to the beats. The DJM-400 includes seven onboard effects: Delay, Echo, Filter, Flanger, Phaser, Robot and Roll. All effects are processed at 24bits for the highest quality sound. A new Beat Select button allows more intuitive and aggressive DJ playing and remixing. Each channel has 3-band isolator EQ with full cut capability. The EQ ranges from +9dB to -∞ (infinity) for total control of the sound.

Pioneer DJM 600 DJ Mixer 4 Channel Review

Pioneer DJM 600 DJ Mixer 4 Channel
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Pioneer DJ Pro mixer DJM600 is a latest offering by the Japanese electronic giant. After the very successful predecessor (The Superstar DJM500) of this series, Pioneer has added some more new features on this mixer. For e.g. The Auto BPM Counter offers a lot more flexibility of use since in DJM 600 it measures t he range from 70-139 / 91-180 / 71-180 or even a Manual option. Another outstanding feature is the STRETCH LOOP PLAY, which can be adjusted to extend or shorten the sample from the mixed track. However, the sampling time is only 8 Secs which may look like a limitation to many DJs. Other basic but useful features includes an EQUALIZER, which has low/mid/high settings for each channel. AUTO BEAT SAMPLER is another function which is new for this series, however this feature was first introduced by Gemini in their PS series mixers. Also, the ABS record time is too short (only 6 Secs). There is no doubt replace the workaholic DJM 500 in clubs, but one thing to remember is that like DJM 500, this mixer works/used best if attached with Pioneer's CDJ series Professional CD players. As always, the Pioneer quality is superb and it is built like robust equipment to handle all the hard use.

Pioneer CDJ-200 Pro Cd/Mp3 Player Review

Pioneer CDJ-200 Pro Cd/Mp3 Player
Average Reviews:

Many places (usually DJ phedophile type) label these players as entry level professional. You WILL think differently UNLESS you DJ in clubs! In my mind, these are professional players if you dont scratch, everything is there for you.
The build quality is excellent, solid robust, and use oil damping. Trust me oil damping shock makes a different, shake these things while theyre playing, they wont skip!
Auto cue and loop is excellent, plus manual in out and loop effects make this a really excellent machine for house breaks and playing your own mixes. To do a test, I auto looped 2 tracks both 128bp, synced using the BPP and tempo functions of the players, played both players through a mixer for 15 minutes, they never missed sync! very accurate BPM and tempo. And this was AUTO loop! imagine with manual, you have even more precision.
BPM is always an issue, due to its accuracy (some BPM counters are a gimmic, ie behringer VXM mixers! )however the BPM here performs very well, the players for the quality, are at an unbelievable price.
the MP3 function is great too, get 100 tracks on a cd instead of carrying your collection to a function, in 7 cd cases (like me!)
plus they fully read MP3 tags, what more do you want?
Wah, Jet, and zip effects are really nice, as is the addition of adjusting speed and key of a track
All round great players
Ive been a DJ for 17 years, seen everything come and go, theres no surprising these players are so popular!
awesome!

Pioneer HDJ-1000 DJ Headphones Review

Pioneer HDJ-1000 DJ Headphones
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The sound, fit, and function is perfect for DJing. Exceptionally tight bass that poo poos all over anything by Sony (700, V6/7506, 7509), Korg, or Ixos, and the mids and highs are nicely balanced. There's a slight (and I do mean slight) excess of bass, but it's in a way that lends itself to mixing and is never muddy and muffled. Etymotic's high end in-ear stuff obviously does better on the bass (as well as everywhere else) but that's a different beast. Unfortunately, the 1000's break. First thing to go is usually the slide joint. You'll notice they keep slipping on one side (left usually) and tightening the screw will eventually strip it. The solution is to superglue the sliders (open them up completely) then tape the outside with scotch tape, which is nearly invisible. A perfect solution, assuming you won't ever get to adjust the size again to anyone else's head. However, that's not the biggest problem. The plastic between the ball joint and the horseshoe shaped piece that contacts the driver housing will eventually crack and break completely. This usually occurs on the right side more, though by that time you'll see cracking on the left, too. It can happen out of nowhere one day and is catastrophic. For the price, this is totally unacceptable construction on Pioneer's part. They have been replacing them like gangbusters to people who have the problem, but you pay the shipping cost and there's no end to the number of headphones you'll go through. As far as I know, they haven't fixed it. Mine just went after only about 6 months. There are people on the Pioneer forum on their 5th one. They sound that good and work that well for DJing, but at this point I'm about ready to try the Senn 25. I've been to Numark hell and back about 11 times, and I don't want to start another cycle with a different product.

Pioneer CDJ-350 CDJ-350 Digital Multi Player Review

Pioneer CDJ-350 CDJ-350 Digital Multi Player
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
An excellent digital turntable. It has a USB port which allows you to carry your music in USB sticks for greater mobility and in addition to this, the CDJ-350 is totally rekordbox compatible so you can use it to organize your music library for each peroformance. You can create a loop with the in and out buttons and cut them into 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 etc. of a loop. It can be used as a midi controller in conjuction with any dj software of your liking like traktor or virtual dj (this are the ones I have tested). With it's vinyl mode, you can use the turntable for scratching, although if this is the main skill you use in your performances, I would highly recommend to evaluate other options, cause the jogwheel is a little smaller than the CDJ 800, 850, 900 and so on... But it has the same feel as the jogwheel of the CDJ 400 so I can tell you, scratching is harder but not impossible. Additional to all this, you can create playlists on the go, saving valuable time when on the stage trying to search your beats in a big library which can be read from a CD/CD-RW, a USB stick or directly from a laptop with DJ software. The display is really helpful when beatmatching with a squence step graphic that shows visually and accuratelly each beat of the song. Last but not least a love it or hate it feature: The BPM lock, which allows you to set a master tempo so you don't have to adjust the platter and the pitch slider to beat match, this is a really controversial feature since some think that this cuts the escence of Djing and some others think that this is the result of the advance of technology and embrace it... Either way, the good news is that this turntable even when it has the BPM lock feature it has the pitch slider and the jogwheel as well so you have the leave it or take it option here.
In my opinion, this CDJ-350 is better than the 400 and others in it's range for two main reasons:
1) The compatibility with rekordbox. And by this I really mean with all dj software in general, because this feature allows you to have Pioneer's technology that has been strictly reserved for the CDJ-900 and the CDJ-2000 until now, and at a more than reasonable price, this means that when you are ready to upgrade your gear you will be more than familiarized with a more complex setup, giving you the upper hand with the learning curve.
2) Even when you can find in the market other digital players with similar features for lower prices, I think that buying this one is a great deal when you stop and think about quality, of course that if you take good care of your equipment no matter the brand it is likely to last for years, but with this equipment you have that extra confidence that is peak technology and durability, not to mention a world standard.
Hope this helps!

Pioneer SE-DJ5000 Dj Headphones Review

Pioneer SE-DJ5000 Dj Headphones
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Despite the faults and lack of user replaceable parts, the SE5000 is a great, sturdy headphone.
The headphone strap is a little uncomfortable after a few hours - it's not too padded like the other Pioneer DJ headphones HDJ1000. So if you want padding, go for the HDJ1000. But I prefer the SE5000 as a working DJ - see below.
The 1/4" cable goes out after about 1.5 years of heavy use (playing gigs 2-4 times a week + practice) - the cable is not user replaceable like the HDJ1000. Actually, one summer, the cable went out on a set after 10 weeks of almost daily gigging (5-7 times a week). That being said, the headphones are cheaper than the HDJ1000 by about $30 to $70 bucks depending on where you get them (watch out for the knockoffs on eBay). The HDJ1000 is $136 at amazon.com. The replacement cable for the HDJ1000 is about $20-$30 bucks I think anyway, and for the one set of HDJ1000 I did own, the cable went out in about 3 months after my regular gigging (2-4 times a week). So do the math. 18 months with these Pioneer SE5000 - at $99, versus replacing the cable every 3 months on an Pioneer HDJ1000 - $136 plus 6 replacement cables at about $20 something each. That's $170 plus $120, coming to about $250. I did the math, and didn't find the HDJ-1000 worth it.
Also, these headphones are more compact - they fit more snuggly on my head than the HDJ1000, which are a bit bulkier.
Finally, these headphones, besides the cable, are built like a rock. The problem with swivel-mounted headphone cups on DJ headphones is that they break pretty easy. I went through 2 pair of Sony V700 in about a year (they are "industry standard") because the headphone cups broke off easily - most of the damage happens when the headphones are folded up and in your bag. The swivel mounts on these headphones are thick, and I've never had a headphone cup break off on these out of the about 5-6 sets I've owned. The only reason I need to replace these are the cable, described above.
Sound quality. The Sony V700 may be superior to the Pioneers. The bass is accentuated the most on the Sony. And the Technics pro DJ headphones don't work as well in terms of loudness - they don't compare to either Pioneer or Sony. However, the sound quality of the Sony is not enough to outmatch the durability of the Pioneer SE5000; it's only a slight difference anyway. But if you can afford to shell out $100 for a new Sony V700 every 6 months because the cups break off, and you want the slight advantage in sound quality, go for it.
Overall, Pioneer SE5000: good sturdy high quality DJ headphones at a reasonable price compared to the higher-priced Pioneers. The cable will go out eventually, and you can't replace it, but they will last much longer than the other headphones.
