(More customer reviews)As a mobile DJ I needed something with good functionality and portability and I found that with the DJM-5000. Rather than talking about general features I will highlight some of the things that make this mixer unique and why I love it. First, if you are using a laptop to DJ or even as a backup like I do, you can connect directly with the mixer via USB. The mixer acts as an external speaker and the volume is controlled directly through the sliders. I use my computer on channel 4 and have had great results. There are also multiple controls per channel- not only do you have the slider bar but also a dial to control the sound so you can adjust per song without having to adjust the master volume. Another great thing about this mixer is the mic talkover- with mic's 1 and 2 you have the option of using talkover so you never have to stop your music. You can also control the percentage that the volume is cut by a dial. I keep my wireless mics on all night and use the power button on the mixer to cut the sound. This is really great at weddings when the bridal party may not know how to turn on your microphone. Unfortunately it seems that mic 1 is intended for a wired mic because the input is on the top of the mixer rather than the back but that is my only complaint!
