Everything fit perfectly - and the case is almost indestructible. The only downside is that it is a little heavy - which considering I'm not shipping this thing it is a little overkill for my needs.

Samson SASRK12 SRK12 12 Space Rack Stand Review

Samson SASRK12 SRK12 12 Space Rack Stand

I needed a rack with wheels to use at home for some recording work I do. Being frustrated at the prices of simple wooden rack boxes/cases I was delighted when I found this unit by Samson.
No, it doesn't have doors/lids that close the front and back for transport, but that's not really what I needed. Besides this thing is heavy enough (it's steel after all) that you wouldn't really want to transport it anyway.
It really is a nice large rack. 18" deep x 20" wide x 27.5" high, with 12 rack spaces. When you put the thing together (it comes with it's own mini screwdriver included, how cool is that?) you have the option of setting it up to use either US or European rack standards and includes rack screws for all the spaces in both standards (the 4 main supports in the case are a sort of "[" shape. On one side are the US threads, on the other side the European ones).
The entire thing is finished with this nice black powder coat that looks like it could take a good bit of abuse, and the top is a very thick and solid surface. I can put my drink or something on it without worrying about spilling something and it ruining the equipment underneath.
There was one problem with the rack though, and it's the ONLY reason it didn't get 5 stars, and that's because some of the screws are near impossible to get in unless you drill out some of the holes.
I think this is because during manufacturing the holes are drilled so the screws will fit perfectly, however the thickness of the powder coat paint results in the holes being just a hair too small for some of the screws.
This is a very easy thing to fix by using a drill with a bit that just barely doesn't fit in the hole. Just go over the hole once, removing the paint and making the hole a tad larger, and the screws will go in no problem. I found this out the hard way by accidentally stripping two screws. Most of the thing goes together VERY easily, and I only notices this problem on the holes located around the lid/top of the case. So if you are putting one together and things get a bit too hard to turn DON'T FORCE IT, you'll just strip the head of the screw.
This is a very minor issue though, and to spite it I would buy another one of these racks in a heart beat if I needed (I really do love it), but I also understand that not everyone may have the tools or ability to address this issue so I thought it was worth mentioning.
Perhaps mine just ran into an over zealous painter during production. It's not a big deal.

I DJ at clubs, cafes, homes and weddings (ie. everywhere). Got the case delivered to my door and saw that the packaging was bigger than I originally thought. After peeling away the cardboard, I got to the case. First thing I noticed was that it looked bigger (and heavier) than my original impression.
Very spacious...everything I had in my smaller carpeted case fit perfectly (and I mean everything). I can already see that air flow (for cooling the CD decks, mixer and wireless microphone receiver) is not going to be an issue because of the large open top-back. I was having a tough time with the wires/cables in my previous smaller case, but that point is now moot. The fact that the spacers on the sides of the case are angled and not flat/horizontal to the ground is a very nice touch....and it included all of the necessary bolts and washers to help install the equipment in the case.
One drawback is that it is kind of heavy, but that's to be expected from a wood/carpeted case. There is no cutout at the bottom to snake through cables and the large opening does show the back of the mixer, but if you take care of your equipment and keep it clean, it shouldn't be an issue - and if you have a 'surround' to hide your equipment/music, then it is no problem at all. I even added some velcro to make it even more organized.
If there were a plastic/lightweight *carpeted* case (I don't want to look like a tech-head with a flight-case - not a good look for wedding DJs), I'd buy it...but the spaciousness, overall look and price are a great deal.

Why constantly hook up all the wiring, lug around multiple cases, and increase setup time when there are items like this on the market. My amps, mixers, and lighting controllers are all in here and prewired. I absolutely love this thing. It looks very professional in my opinion. I never need a table and I can be setup in minutes. Only downside is that the little hole in the back is too small to pull alot of wires through. My solution was to drill a 2 inch round hole in the bottom to pull wires. Now, you cant see a single cable. Clean and professional. There are plenty of rack spaces for mobile DJs and there are accessories you can purchase for increased flexibility. The table comes in handy as well. Would never go back to the traditional DJ setup.

I was able to fit my Behringer mixer (with the mountable adapter 'ears'), Crown power amp, power conditioner, and a custom shelf all in this case. The case is sturdy with quality hardware. The 'Marathon' plate is necessary as the slanted mixer will come down into the vertical space and this covers it up as you would loose that space anyways due to the bottom of the mixer. This case is rugged and ready for gigs!

Odyssey CRE04 4 Space 17 Deep Carpeted Econo Rack Review

Odyssey CRE04 4 Space 17 Deep Carpeted Econo Rack

I did my homework before buying this rack case, and am glad I did. I originally purchased an SKB 4-space molded rack & was less than impressed w/ the "heavy-duty" twist latches, & I did not care for the bulk of the molded rack case, so I returned it and purchased this rack case instead. I am completely surprised and impressed with the workmanship, appearance, & function of this product. The handle is heavy-duty & the case itself is very sturdy. I like the way the front & rear panels friction-fit perfectly. I did have to relocate the rack rails toward the front of the case to accomodate my Nady XA series power amps, but this was done easily enough. I also added casters to one end of the case as it weighs close to 45 kilos w/ the amps in place, but for the money, I think this is an awesome value, & I am very pleased and definitely recommend this case!
