This cartridge has worked well so far for me. It seems to be a good low cost unit with suprisingly good sound and excellent channel seperation. It does track quite a bit heavier than the Shure V15 RS it replaced, I am tracking it at 2 1/2 grams on my older MCS turntable.

N95ED Replacement Stylus Review

Bought this as a replacement for a Shure M95-ED because I loved the price. Unfortunately, it may be a case of getting what you pay for. Everything sounded a little flat, gauzy almost. A lack of clarity. Had to crank up the tracking force to get a sound closer to what I expect -- and that's a sign of a bad, after-market stylus. Better options are available online, though perhaps not on Amazon.

I have been using Ortofon needles for over 12 years as a professional DJ, and this product is the best I've used from the company! The packaging is excellent and keeps your needles safe. It was great to buy the pair as a set instead of individually, which was the usual way the the needles were packaged in the past. The silver needles are much sturdier than the blue, black, and neon yellow models I have used. It comes with a handy brush to get rid of the pesky lint and dust on your records. I highly recommend this product to anyone who uses vinyl!

I have owned just about every needle available to djs. These are great right out of the box. The Qberts/Nightclubs/etc all need some wear in time. The problem IMO is that these tend to wear down quite fast. Also, a fun fact, its actually cheaper to buy an OM kit with 2 stylus's then it is to buy 2 replacement stylus
This is a great needle...i recommend over the qberts (too loud/too sensitive)

These are the best all-around workhorse carts out there. They stay in the groove for scratching, cueing, give off great sound, and won't trash your records.

I purchase two cartridges w/ stylus (Ortofon Concorde S) a couple weeks back, when I got them they were both blemished as if they had been used before and one of them outright didn't work. So I sent them back and only got one back in return, fortunately it was unblemished and actually worked nicely. After calling Amazon sent the second one, which came after a week since UPS lost the package. However, this one also didn't work, I tested it on a couple different turntables to make sure - it still didn't work. So I decided to send them back, Amazon claims it is the manufacturer's fault, regardless I will never buy dj equipment from Amazon again and I will definitely not buy Ortofon.

EPS-41 Replacement Stylus Review

My grandmother has an ancient Panasonic SG-HM22 all-in-one stereo system. When the phonograph stylus gave out, I was sure that I wouldn't be able to find a replacement, Even if I did, I assumed it would cost me more than I was willing to spend. And even if I found the part at a reasonable price, I assumed it would be a total pain to install. This part was really reasonably priced, snapped in with no effort, and my record collection sounds great once again. An all-around success :)

Shure M25C - Phono cartridge Review

Shure M25C - Phono cartridge
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
To be completely honest I did not expect the kind of sound that this cartridge was able to produce. I bought an SL-1200 MK5 and the store I bought it at did not have the cartridge I wanted, the M97xE. I decided to get this cartridge to hold me over until the one I want comes in as I was anxious to listen to my albums. This cartridge as I understand is more for DJ applications than audiophile. The M25C tracks beautifully even on damaged vinyl. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is due to the fact it uses a conical stylus instead of a Diamond tip elliptical which means it is not the best choice to preserve vinyl as it cause more wear. Lot of bang for the buck!

Audio-technica AT 92ECD - Phono Cartridge Review

Audio-technica AT 92ECD - Phono Cartridge
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This particular Audio Technica cartridge will suprisingly enough yield very crisp and clear audio quality. Bass response is tight but not overwhelming nor weak. The wonderful thing about this type of cartridge is that it's basically a plug and play set up (just have to tighten a screw to hold it in place with most P-mount systems). The elliptical stylus or tip is designed for better contact with the stereo groove walls in a record resulting in better frequency response and clarity. The user does not have to worry about how much stylus pressure, weight, or anti-skating to provide to get the most from this cartridge;that's the beauty of using this cartridge on a P-mount tonearm instead of as a standard one...This cartrdige will perform admirably when used for regular record listening conditions. This is not a DJ stylus to scratch with as you may damage the needle and the record ("burn"). Also, it is more suitable for playing any kind of music except classical or jazz where a high end audiophile cartridge/needle would be needed. Such a high end cartridge and needle would bring out extreme musical detail as well as the ambiance or "air" of the instruments. Also, that would allow for better stereo separation as well... This is only a better than average cartridge meaning that you will only get about maybe a little over a year's worth of use from it (if you played one or 2 records a day or every 2 days respectively). That is also the difference between a basic low priced cartridge/stylus versus an audiophile grade one (those can usually go for about 5 years---but you would be talking anywhere from hundreds to maybe thousands of dollars).

The Pro-S is an ok Catridge. Any cartridge with a built in headshell is going to require alot of weight to be able to stay in the groove such as the Pro-S. I tried these carriages and sent them back because they didn't have the wight I needed to pull of explosive scratching.

Ortofon Spherical DJ Stylus (Blue) Review

Ortofon Spherical DJ Stylus (Blue)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've tried several Ortofon DJ Stylus products and I always end up back at their Blue series. Although one could say that how you perceive the quality of audio from a vinyl source depends on a myriad of factors such as your RIAA pre-amp (built into your mixer or not), the quality of the vinyl, your speaker cables and finally your speakers themselves. I have sought to have a respectable setup and this has given me a perspective on the differences in how each stylus sounds. Not the best (Perhaps the nightclub series) however they are durable and can be used for time coded vinyl for products such as Final Scratch. I'll actually keep my old ones around for timecoded vinyl because the pick-up is good enough that the styli can be years old and I can still track my records just fine.

Ortofon Concorde Pro S Set Cartridge with 1 Extra Stylus Black Review

Ortofon Concorde Pro S Set Cartridge with 1 Extra Stylus Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've been running old gospel records to CD for some time now. Wore out the turntable's stock stylus, then went through two Audio Technica ones (the ATP-2XN ones), then a Stanton, then this. I think this Ortofon is the best I've had yet. Tracks even better than the Stanton, and clarity is just a shade better than the Audio Technicas.
What I really, really, REALLY like though, is you don't have to spend all that time turning tiny screws in the headshell. There is no headshell. This thing turned a fifteen minute tedious replacement into about twelve seconds.
And no, I'm not an Ortofon employee paid to write a good review. :P I just thought I'd drop a word in for them. If I find a different cartridge that does better, I'll edit this to recommend the better one.

Shure MCC DJ Cartridge Case Review

Shure MCC DJ Cartridge Case
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
First, I would like to point out the image here shows four carts mounted in-line, all on one side of the case (I believe this is a newer version). I have a different version of the case, which has two on either side, on the ends, opposing each-other. I own a few different Shure products, and all-in-all I like their company/products.
At first, I was thrilled with this thing; it has a rubber gasket that keeps dust, liquid, etc, out (as far as I can tell it's air-tight). It's got a nice, solid plastic shell - feels very durable. I am a DJ, so I throw this thing into my backpack, and take extra mounted cartridges as backups. However, after I mounted my carts on the headshells in the Baerwald alignment (in this instance, that means they are towards the front), the carts are so far forward they hit the opposing pair when you try to close the case!!! I am using SHURE M44-7 CARTS WITH TECHNIC HEADSHELLS (the most common headshell/cart combo). I also have a Shure M97xE cart, with the same problem.
Just to be absolutely clear: the purpose of this case is to store and transport pre-mounted/aligned headshell/cartridges. If ever I have a needle issue, I can swap them out with the ones from this case in about 10 seconds flat. If I mounted the carts further back on the headshell, they would be out of alignment, making the purpose of this null. So, this "4 headshell case" is actually a 2 headshell case that takes up the space of a 4 headshell case. It's as though Shure went straight from the drawing board to production with no R&D in between.
Pros; sturdy construction, holds headshells securely, air-tight
Cons; case is too large to only hold 2 headshells, case is too small to hold 4 mounted and aligned headshell/carts, falsely advertised, priceThis case gets 2 stars instead of 1 because there is nothing else - that I know of - that is better. HUGE bonus points would have been scored if there were a place for spare styli.

Grado - Gold Mm Cartridge *standard Mount* Review

Grado - Gold Mm Cartridge *standard Mount*
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This cartridge/stylus is the biggest bang for your buck by far. I just installed this on my turntable and right away the difference was known. If you are upgrading from a factory installed cartridge on a lower end turntable, then you should consider purchasing a anti-static cleaning brush, so that it will remove 99% of your dust. The reason I say this is that this cartridge will pick up everything even the slightest particle.
Pros:
Cheap as compared to other brands and the frequency range is amazing considering the price. The Gold over the Silver is slightly noticeable on mediocre systems, but on Hi-Fi systems it becomes clear why it is of the top 5% of production. This truly brings your records to life. If you like the Beatles, and you have an album in near mint condition, it sounds as if they are preforming right in front of you. The Coldplay X&Y album's vocals are astounding, specifically on "Fix You".
Cons:
It is not the absolute best out there, but in all honesty, if you want to go higher than this look to spend in the neighborhood of $500 for a real nice cartridge. Other than that I haven't seen any problems with this what so ever.
Other Thoughts:
It recommends a tracking force of 1.5, but i went just a little less than that as to better preserve my albums.

This cartridge is just what I needed for converting my vinyl collection to digital. Every vinyl record that I transcribed with this Ortofon Arkiv sounded surprisingly amazing! This is a very sensitive instrument. I recommend that you thoroughly clean your record and treat it with Gruv-Glide before using since every detail in the recording including the imperfections of the vinyl record will be noticed.
