(More customer reviews)this light is awsome. just a little backgroung on me, im not a DJ just a guy who enjoys music and DJ lighting effects. this light runs very cool due to the LED bulbs and is very energy efficent compaired to other fixtures. the light is very sencitive to music, it does not have to be loud for this light to perform well, for the best effect a fog machine is recomended. the only complaint i have is the motors that turn the mirrors are just a little noisy, but medium volume music hides the noise. in all for the $2.19 I paid for this unit i woulds have been content with a broken unit, but it came new in box and fully functional. and BTW i do mean $2.19, i got this thing for a downright steal. also if you starting a DJ service or just starting a lighting collection dont start here. get some "filler lights" that illuminate the dance floor first, such as can lights or a disco ball. once you have a safe amount of illumination then look at this as an accessory to your already developed light show, due to the directional nature of the light beams this unit will not light a large area however the beams are bright enough to travel a good distance which makes this light ideal for both small and large spaces. BTW id like to thank the seller for hooking me up, at the price they sold it there is no way they turned a proffit unless they got it for free from their vendor.

I doesn't respond to music by syncing up to the beats, it just turns on when it detects sound and runs through a set program. I also was unable to get the Master/Slave function to work with my other Chauvet lights which sucked. Shipping was great and was properly packaged however it makes a real loud whining sound when it's plugged in, this started after the first few days. It appears to be getting worse and I fear it is only a matter of time before this new unit dies...

Chauvet Mirror Ball, 20 inch Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this mirror ball for a Saturday Night Fever party at our yacht club. I also bought the motor, that when attached, makes the ball move slowly in a circle.
This was exactly what I wanted and it was great for the party. Our room was approximately 30' x 50', so this size was perfect. If your room is small, this ball would be too big.
I also separately purchased a cheap clip on lamp with a 75 watt spot at Home Depot to focus on the ball. It is important that you buy a pin spot light or similar or you won't get the effect you want. I found a package which included the ball, motor and pin light for smaller disco balls but I could not find a package for this larger ball.
I would highly recommend this product.

Chauvet LX-5 Moonflower LED Light Review

I also have its big brother the J-Five by Chauvet. These are both LED technology and draw very little current. They also run absolutely cool. I have had these both running for ten to twelve hours at a time with no heat buildup whatsoever. No exaggeration, these lights have run for hours and hours. All our previous lighting systems had very limiting duty cycles. These have no duty cycle. Really. They go and go and go.
The LX5 will add a nice mood to a small room (say 15 by 25 for my example).
If you want a real busy rock show, the Chauvet J-Five is where you need to step up to.
These lights are "dumb" meaning they have their own onboard light show or they will sense music and perform to the music (do not use a controller and are stand alone). They have sensitivity knobs to adjust the onboard mic to the level of the music you are playing.
I have to tell you, without exception, these lights hypnotize people. Crank up some music, turn the house lights down and turn on these lights and WOW! It doesn't matter what age music style, anything. People will stop in their tracks and watch these lights. Performing in front of them is the complete opposite. They don't blind you, yet they provide excitement, illumination and excellent mood. I am gushing perhaps, but coming from hot, high current, dangerous old tech lighting, these are not even on the same planet.
In a nutshell, Excellent lights, I am going to buy more of them and also add controllable LED lights.
Purchase these lights and be amazed. Again, if you want mood and have a small room the LX5. If you want a rock show the J-Five, both by Chauvet.

Chauvet Mini Flash Strobe Light Review

Chauvet produces quality products, however they left out some important features...
-No On/Off Switch
-No Rhythm Mode (Flashes On Beat)
But it's still a Strobe and Flashes like one. The only control YOU have is plugging it in (which makes the light flash instantly). Also, there is a Pace Control - in which you can control how rapid the flashes reappear.
I bought my friend a strobe for $9.99 @ KB Toys a few years back that had: On/Off Switch, Rhythm Mode, Color Film (for changing colors [clear, blue, green, red]), Pace Control. So if this strobe is still out there for the same $$$ I'd recommend it.
Well choice is yours!
THE AFTERMATH:
So I already wrote this review, but since then (only the 3rd time plugging this mini strobe in) the strobe light blew.
Chauvet does not offer replacement bulbs, however, after I contacted Chauvet through emails, they sent me a brand new 1 free of charge.

Chauvet CIRRUS Review

(More customer reviews)Just got my Chauvet Cirrus and am in awe of the effects it produces. The other review is correct about the sound active mode, it turns on the red or green lasers or both with the beats of the music while the blue background LED 'wash' is on constantly. This light should be set where you can get to the control panel as the effects are adjustable from fast to slow motion and how long each laser is on. A remote control would be an excellent addition even if it was wired to the unit. The thing I did not like and that resulted in the 4 stars rating is the external power supply; these are always a problem when doing a show and you need to plug into power bars where it covers other valuable outlets. They also can get damaged or lost easily and lowers the quality of the light to a toy level. I was only unhappy with the external power supply because the other Chauvet Scorpion lasers I have are much better built.
Don't look at the box or the toy power supply but do look at the wonderful display this puts out and be amazed. Unique and beautiful and fills a large area. Highly recommended.

Chauvet LED Rain 64 - RGB spot Review

I knew it would not be as powerful due to the smaller LEDs, but thought it would have a nice wash effect for architectural lighting. It did not work great as an uplight, but it does look nice on truss or light tree. This would probably work great in a location where a stationary spot is needed, but in that situation, why waste the extra money on leds unless you are looking for enery efficiency or heat reduction.

Chauvet Vue III Review

(More customer reviews)I am responsible for providing the entertainment effects for a small bowling establishment here in Oshkosh. I found the VUE II on sale at a store that had all their Chauvet equipment on sale. I went in and had the clerks hook it up, and all I can say is that it pretty much blew me away. The sensitivity response is phenomenal, and the coverage area is excellent. The house I set it up in is an 8 lane bowling alley, and I did not have a location near the speakers to set it up at. That worried me, as I have set up other lighting equipment, and they have almost got to be touching the speakers to get them to react with the music. I set it up in the middle of the settee area anyway and plugged a couple bucks into the jukebox. It works fantastic. I personally am very happy with the purchase of this unit, and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to establish a party atmosphere at a very reasonable price. There are no moving parts, and the LED's are projected to last over 10,000 hours, so the maintenance cost will be next to nil, maybe an occasional cleaning off of the dust and a wipe of the lens. Power consumption is also very low. The unit may look large, and it is, but it is extremely light, and with no moving parts there is no concern about mounting bolts working loose. Simply find a spot that will support the weight, and away you go. It is also plenty bright, illuminating the pin area of the lanes which are over 60 feet away from the unit.

I was a little confused when I noticed a 9V power supply input on the back of the controller. American DJ Micro Galaxian Laser Special Effects Lighting Review

(More customer reviews)This is the American DJ Micro Galaxian red & green laser. It is the smaller version of the Galaxian laser with the same laser power output, but a smaller beam spread. It is a compact well built unit with a power switch on the back and a small fan to keep it cool. The small power cord plugs into the back of the unit and has a transformer block on the end of the cord. It comes with a remote that works great, but has an antenna to pull up if needed, which seems like old technology. The remote has 4 buttons which allows you to select auto/sound mode, blackout, color and direction of rotation. When going through the color modes you can select red, green, red/green together or red/green changing and flashing. You can select auto mode or sound mode so it will go with the music. There is also a speed control knob on the back of the laser to have the dots stop completely, move very fast or slow. The darker the room the better, but you can easily see it in any room with the lights on. I am very pleased with it. I havent tried it with fog but I know it would look great since it has 200 beams. It will work great for any DJ to use on the dancefloor, wall or ceiling. This is a great buy under $100.
PROS: It is small, bright, well built and works great. It has a remote to control it.
CONS: Transformer on cord and antenna on remote.

I have 2 of the American DJ Mega Pixel LED full length color bars for larger applications but I needed a smaller version for karaoke shows at bars. I mount one of these on my DJ booth to add color and light to the bar dance floor. This light is perfect for small bars and rooms. It would also work great for adding color to any stage. It is the same as the larger version but in a smaller package. It has a standard 3 prong cord on it with no wall wart. It comes with 2 sets of brackets that are different sizes. Just like the larger version, you can link them together, but I would buy the larger version if you need more light. These type of LED lights are so bright, its difficult to look directly at them. I love the large and small LED bars because they are bright, colorful and look great. I do get a few complaints about them being too bright, so I point them down a little. I leave it on sound active so it changes with the beat of the music and if the music stops for about 10 seconds then it will flash through the pre-programmed patterns. I love this light because its small, coloful and easy to use.
