(More customer reviews)This remote is simple with 3 buttons and a 1/4" plug. The cable is 35' long which seems to be plenty long. I use it with the American DJ Megapixel LED light and it's great. With that light I can go through the lighting programs, make it strobe anytime and turn it off. I love using the remote so I can change the light patterns or select a single color anytime from my DJ booth. It could only be better if it were wireless!

If you do get the MUSHROOM, it has limmeted DMX and is very noisey. It does not move to the beat, it only responds to sound in general. when it turns on from music, it will keep turning for about 6 seconds. If you set the sensitivity up, it will respond to the noise it makes itself and not shut off. I get some complaints about the spinning every once in a while.In a big room, at the right angle, it does look pretty neat.

(More customer reviews)This is a great laser! I wasn't sure what to expect when bought it but when it arrived and I plugged it in I was amazed by what it can do! I tested it out in a rather large room but had no fog i could use but the patters on the wall were pretty awesome! The only negative I have about this product is I wish there was a way there could be a speed knob so that if your playing a slower song the laser would be able to slow down. But all in all a wonderful laser and great great great effects. You can even see the laser pattern on the wall with lights on

Red and Green Laser Star Projector for Dj Disco Party Review

(More customer reviews)During the past two months, I've purchased a total of 9 of these red and green laser projectors, from 2 different sellers, through Amazon. Of these, I've returned 4 and kept 5. Based on my experience, there are at least 4 different red and green laser projector types being sold through Amazon. They all look identical on the outside and come in identical packaging, with identical instructions. The 4 types are as follows:
1) The BEST laser projectors project RED LASER laser grids that are 16 or 18 DOTS HIGH and 16 or 18 DOTS WIDE (for a total of 256 or 324 dots) PLUS GREEN LASER grids that are 16 or 18 DOTS HIGH and WIDE. (Since each of these laser dots can have 35 smaller dots converging into it or emerging from it, the total number of dots is much higher. The machines with 18x18 grids are slightly more satisfying than those with 16x16 grids, of course, but I only received one of those in the 9 I purchased.) These individual laser dots are BRIGHT (nearly as bright as a red laser pointer that I own; however, with all machines, the lasers on the outer perimeters of the grid are dimmer than those in the center). The red and green lasers stay on CONTINUOUSLY.
2) The SECOND BEST laser projectors project laser grids that are ONLY 12 RED LASER DOTS HIGH and WIDE (for a total of 144 dots) and ONLY 12 GREEN LASER DOTS HIGH and WIDE. These lasers are BRIGHT and stay on CONTINUOUSLY.
3) The THIRD BEST laser projectors project grids that are ONLY 12 RED LASER DOTS HIGH and WIDE and ONLY 12 GREEN LASER DOTS high and wide. Their lights are BRIGHT, but their GREEN LASERS TURN OFF EVERY 30 SECONDS and then suddenly TURN BACK ON AGAIN EVERY 30 SECONDS. In my opinion, these arbitrary fluctuations in the green laser beams tend to destroy the magical effect of the display.
4) Finally, the WORST laser projectors are DIM, some only about 1/5 as bright as the brightest lasers, and others only about 1/2 as bright.
Overall, these projectors can be a lot of fun, if you can get the best ones, and if you can put up with the hassle of returning the ones that are defective. I recommend buying two and placing them close together, so that the two grids overlap. The brain will get used to the grid pattern of one projector fairly quickly, but having two projectors will give your show much more variety, since the moving lasers from two grids will interact in unpredictable ways.

American DJ Dual Gem Pulse LED Powered Effect Light Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this DJ Dual Gem Pulse along with the American DJ Vertigo Tri LED Powered Effect Light and American DJ Mini Fog 400 W Fog Machine With Remote And Pint Of Fog Juice. I spoke with my friend who DJs at the local bars in the area and he recommended the Vertigo and Dual Gem lights as good starts for my home setup.
I'd say he was spot on with the Vertigo and fog machine, not so much with the Dual Gem Pulse. I'm happy with the light as a secondary light to the Vertigo. The issue is the Dual Gem Pulse doesn't have much variation in its moonflower light pattern. Compared to the Vertigo, the light variation appears repetitive. The spread of the moonflower light pattern doesn't fill the room. Also, the "strobe" in the middle isn't really a "strobe." It's just a square of individual white LEDs that flash on and off. The effect isn't that of a strobe, where things seem to freeze in motion. Luckily the "strobe" has an on off button, so this isn't a deal breaker. I almost always leave the "strobe" off.
Pros:
- LED light. This is VERY important because you can run the light continuously. DJ lights that aren't LED have to be turned off after as little as 10-15 minutes to cool off. That's a major pain.
- Same stuff the pros use for an affordable price
- Well constructed, made of durable metal components
- Mounting bracket to hang the light up if you want
- Low power consumption
Cons:
- Not really a "strobe"
- Lighting isn't that varied
- Limited spread of the lights in a room
- Not much color variation, only red, green and blue

(More customer reviews)This is the American DJ Micro Galaxian red & green laser. It is the smaller version of the Galaxian laser with the same laser power output, but a smaller beam spread. It is a compact well built unit with a power switch on the back and a small fan to keep it cool. The small power cord plugs into the back of the unit and has a transformer block on the end of the cord. It comes with a remote that works great, but has an antenna to pull up if needed, which seems like old technology. The remote has 4 buttons which allows you to select auto/sound mode, blackout, color and direction of rotation. When going through the color modes you can select red, green, red/green together or red/green changing and flashing. You can select auto mode or sound mode so it will go with the music. There is also a speed control knob on the back of the laser to have the dots stop completely, move very fast or slow. The darker the room the better, but you can easily see it in any room with the lights on. I am very pleased with it. I havent tried it with fog but I know it would look great since it has 200 beams. It will work great for any DJ to use on the dancefloor, wall or ceiling. This is a great buy under $100.
PROS: It is small, bright, well built and works great. It has a remote to control it.
CONS: Transformer on cord and antenna on remote.

(More customer reviews)Like most DJs I have been using the sc-8 wired version. Finally American DJ came out with a remote controlled wireless version! I love this unit. It saves me set up time because I don't have to run a 50' cable to my booth and place the switch panel there. Now I set up my stand and lights, plug them in and I'm done. The power pack feels solid. It's a little thicker than the wired version pack. It has eight electric plugs, one 1/4" UC3 jack to control 1 American DJ light (more if daisy chained), and a circuit breaker. You can plug in eight lights and turn them on and off with the remote. No flash button, just on and off. Also the UC3 control is great. I have two of the American DJ Mega Pixel LED lights so I plug in the UC3 control to the "Master" light and run a XLR cable to the second light to link them together. The remote also has the the three buttons to control any UC3 light, just like the wired UC3 remote except there is not a flashing light on the remote to show what mode you are in. It reacts fast and works through walls at a distance.I put a clamp on it to hold it to the light stand.
The remote is small and takes an 23A battery. Push the buttons firmly and it works every time.
It has an all on and all off button you hold for 5 seconds. This is 16 amps and will handle all your LED lights great. I love this and will never go back to a wired lighting controller. Good product!

American DJ Dekker LED Powered Color Changing Effect Light Review

(More customer reviews)Goodbye Aggressor and Kinta. This is the new King of Derbys. A great light for the fog-restricted, instant response and great sound active programs. Adding the white color is great. Split these wide in a pair and let them take care of everything. Light intensity is on par with the Agressor, which I would say is medium intensity, you will not get much residual wash from this like with the Kinta.
I ordered three, one came not working, the first of any ADJ product I received defective. Another the power connection was unreliable, shorting from the start. Bummed, and had to return them.
And another dismal disclaimer... this unit, unlike so many before it, resets when depowered and does not default into sound active mode (nor into the mode it was depowered in). Major design fail. So if you like to remotely switch your unit's power feed, you will not be able to use this light in sound active mode. When you power it up, it simply does nothing, it requires reselecting the mode and unless you are controlling with DMX or have 10' long arms, you will be required to purchase a UC3 controller.

American DJ Fusion FX Bar 2 LED Effect Bar With 3 Effects In One Review

(More customer reviews)I'm an Event DJ of 7-8 years. I play weddings, parties of all kinds, and prior to my acquiring my Fusions, my set of lights included exclusively Chauvet products.
I've taken my pair of Fusions to about 10 events since I purchased them, and I've been very happy with their performance to date. My guests have made several positive comments about my Fusions as well.
Pros: All-in-One device and light weight makes for excellent portability; Wash lights are bright and the moons are very well defined; DMX configuration to my controller was a cakewalk; device performance during my gigs have been exceptional; Devices are relatively small and inobtrusive in comparison to a pair of t-bars/light trees and a mess of strange-looking boxes hanging from t-bars (makes for an overall cleaner look).
Cons: All-in-One device aspect makes for a bad thing if something in the device fails; LEDs in the moons could be brighter; Device is ~1" too long for my equipment case (picture an airline carry-on bag - hard case, foam internals). Yeah, I know the case issue is somewhat dumb (buy a bigger case, ya' idiot). I couldn't come up with any other Cons, and this one kinda irked me when I found this bit out, hence its inclusion. :)
All said, this is a very dynamic and "does everything" device. I've been looking forward to something like this for a very long time. Load-Ins and Outs are SO much easier, and setting the devices up @ my events takes all of five minutes.
The moons' projections are very sharp, and the variable rotation speeds are fluid and an awesome feature. I just wish the LEDs were a bit brighter. :)
This is my first ADJ purchase (I was previously a complete Chauvet zealot), but the features incorporated into this device make this my new favorite toy. :)
One last tidbit: Anyone remember "Crichton" (sounds like "KRY-ten") from the old "Buck Rogers" TV series? These fixtures kinda look like his head...heh.

Chauvet VUE 1.1 DMX-512 LED Moon Flower Light Review

(More customer reviews)I ordered this light to spice up the RockBand atmosphere. It works as described. Has many pre-programmed lighting routines that can be adjusted easily. The light is constructed well and seems to be great quality. The LED lights are nice since they do not get hot. The light works even better with a fog machine to give some great effects. I mounted the light on a twelve foot ceiling. It only casts a pattern of about 12-15 feet maximum at that distance. If you have a larger space you may need multiple lights to get your desired effect. The only negative I have is the light is also sound activated. This function however is not sensitive enough unless you have huge speakers or the music cranked up all of the way on a stereo and you cannot hear anyone talk. I therefore am stuck using the pre-programmed lighting routines but it serves the purpose nicely. I would reccomend Chauvet products because they seem to be well made. I also bought one of there fog machines and am very happy.

American DJ Flash Shot DMX Variable Speed LED Strobe Light Review

(More customer reviews)This is the cheapest qaulity fixture I have ever received from the two big names in lighting. Hopefully, this is not a sign of the direction we are headed.
The details. Everthing about this fixture is plastic, and not a high quality plastic, rendering this strobe lighter weight than a baseball. The DMX connectors have no crispness so you guess at a lazy connection (it had my whole chain down for a while, but later I discovered there is a red status light in there, you wouldn't know it's there if it's not on because it's never mentioned in the manual). Power cord built in (cheap). The worst part: the flimsy dipswitch panel receded and moved around as the toggles were set. The manual could have been written by third graders, with absolutely no mention of whether the switches were required to tell this thing whether to do DMX or built-in, like other fixtures with DMX dipswitches.
Perhaps all the money was saved for the LEDs. Not quite as bright as I expected, would say these would match a 50Watt halogen, in a pair might suffice for a small hall. They were quick enough though to replace a halogen. I had some trouble getting an even response when transitioning at higher flash rates, but that may have been my wireless DMX pushed to it's limits. All in all, it got the strobing part down. The overall white is a little bluer than a halogen's.
Overall, cannot recommend this as a serious unit.
