(More customer reviews)I recently bought this 12' inch powered speaker and I got to say I am so pleased with my purchase (So far). First I received it on the minimum expected day instead of the last which was great so I did not wait long at all (5 buisness days). When i received it, it was very well boxed and in place so I already had the comfort of knowing that it wasn't being toss and turned too much while on the move to my house.
The minute i unboxed it i was very eager to test it out, being that I am new into the mobile DJ business I am very excited that i purchased these because I have been borrowing passive speakers for some time so lugging those 2 guys around + a huuuggee powered mixer has not been fun at all and all my other gear is starting to pile as i accumulate more. Anyways.... from the minute i hooked it up I put my favorite genre of music... Drum and bass. The results were great (not amazing) but great non the less. The music came out very clear and loud, the bass was there but i definatly need at least an amp somewhere whenever i get the chance and also I was testing this with that one speaker so not bad honestly. I put it in my backyard to simulate an outdoor house party and it pumped it up to the max and went to the front of my house and that 1 speaker was making it sound like a fun party had started real early in the afternoon.
So far there are only a few negatives about this speaker which wont bother me 2 much. First is the 1 handle on the side, I hate lugging this like a piece of luggage, i much prefer to keep it right side up and 2 grips on the side for more "safety". Also when i put the speaker on a speaker stand it fit just fine but when taking it out it seems to get stuck rather easily so it a bit of a pain to take off (especially if your by yourself). Finally, maybe I'm just not used to powered speakers so I cannot say if this is a norm or not but it does a tad hot in the back where i guess the built in amp is.. however again its not too bad (as far as i know).Honestly, I am 5 star'ing this because I am one happy person right now, no damage to my speaker on arrival, it is working fine (no defects yet) and Im convinced to defiantly buy a 2nd one of these to complete my set. If all goes well Seismic Audio has my business for a long time.
