As a mobile DJ, I am constantly moving my gear in an out of my apartment so protection and portability are very important to me. Although I really like the solid construction this tank provides, there are some definite ways this puppy could be improved, especially for the price you pay. Here is my take on the pros and cons of this coffin:
Pros:
-Makes set-up very easy
-Two-level slide out stand is extremely convenient
-Very sturdy build and great protection for tables
-Can fit dust covers inside the coffin
-Can adjust to fit 10-12.5 inch mixers
-Coffin case is stackable
-Looks very good and keeps set-up neat
Cons:
-Heavy even without gear inside
-VERY heavy with gear inside
-Rubber feet tend to fall off rather quickly
-Cannot adjust stand level
-Inner foam supporting cover will need repair after a while
-Only one handle on each side makes it awkward to lift
-Needs two people to carry and set-up
-Very expensive as far as coffins go
Overall, the two biggest factors to consider are set-up convenience vs. transportation difficulty. What is more important to you? I found that as long as I had a buddy around to help move/lift the coffin, the coffin is definitely worth it. But it is a pain to lug around and lift in and out of your truck if you are by yourself. I ended up buying 2 single Road Ready TT cases for when I have gigs that I have to ride solo at. But I still am keeping this coffin as a studio set-up or for when I know I will have help at my mobile gigs.
