Very secure for holding a Brand New Rane Sl3 Serato Scratch Live Dj Software + Full Audio and Video Interface for Scratching, Mixing, and Recording Digitally! component with velcro strips included. Looks professional and adds a nice touch to keep the DJ setup clean and polished. Seems to be of quality and thick metal tray has a finished edge with no rough ends - the tray is not flimsy at all. I like it!

(More customer reviews)I use this stand to place my laptop on location photo shoots with my camera tethered. The sale price made this a good buy. The tripod is sturdy and light. From a perfectionist standpoint I would suggest the following improvements: The table top have a non-skid surface, it be attached with metal rather than plastic clamps, and be removeable from the tripod for transport/storage (it folds flat against the tripod). Never the less, at the sale price it easily rates 4 out of 5 as-is and I do not regret the purchase.

Stanton Uberstand Laptop Stand Review

(More customer reviews)I just used the Stanton Uberstand for a club DJ gig. I had to travel via train to get to the gig and I was lugging around two laptops and an Xponent, so the Uberstand's light weight and flat profile (when folded) was a real plus. The body is also solidly constructed, and its silver finish is complementary to my Macbook Pro 15-inch unibody. In order to fit the legs of the stand under my Xponent, I have to place my Xponent on some drink coasters, but that's not a big issue (helps keep the Xponent off the table in case of drink spillage). When set up, it feels solid and unlikely to topple over when bumped. The rubber at the end of the legs also keeps the laptop from moving while balanced on the top. The stand also comes with a snug-fitting carry case.
My only gripe is that you need a (provided) plastic handcuff thing to hold the base in place when you are setting it up. I can see myself losing this plastic handcuff eventually, so I would prefer some mechanical locking mechanism instead. Other than this one gripe, this is an excellent product for mobile DJs.

Laptop Stand - Black Review

(More customer reviews)Stands are the least glamorous piece of musical equipment, but they are a necesity. I wanted a stand for my laptop while Djing/playing live music, and wanted something collapsible, that I could trow in my bag.
The Stand is horribly constructed, the threads on the ends are not machined properly, so you need to add a piece of something in between the screws else the whole contraption wables.
It is also fairly heavy, so carrying it adds up to your load.
Overall, I would recomend it if you need a fixed stand that you won't take apart every other day, but the search continues for a better stand for my gigs, and odyssey,please do some quality control on your products.

Marathon MA-LTS Shelf for Laptop Stand Review

(More customer reviews)I hate to do this but this shelf is of the similar quality and build of the stand. That doesn't say anything positive about the shelf, btw. It must be uber hard to offer a quality shelf for an affordable price because when I assembled the shelf and attached it to the stand, I was worried about everything falling off and how sturdy the whole setup was. The shelf actually made the stand look even more contorted. I'm a dj and I can't have my $1k laptop fall over or my soundcard or hard drive slip. For myself, I don't feel this was of a good build or worth the money I paid. Sorry. I returned it after a few days.
