(More customer reviews)I am giving this 4 stars as of today, because i just received it and cannot vouch for it's long term performance. But if it is still working next year, I'll be giving it 10 stars. I took it out into my back yard and it lit up the entire back yard from grass to trees. it is amazingly powerful and really must be seen to be believed. Inside, it can be audio activated and fills the room with light. bottom line: at this price point, assuming it lasts for awhile, you can't go wrong.

Chauvet Mini Flash Strobe Light Review

Chauvet produces quality products, however they left out some important features...
-No On/Off Switch
-No Rhythm Mode (Flashes On Beat)
But it's still a Strobe and Flashes like one. The only control YOU have is plugging it in (which makes the light flash instantly). Also, there is a Pace Control - in which you can control how rapid the flashes reappear.
I bought my friend a strobe for $9.99 @ KB Toys a few years back that had: On/Off Switch, Rhythm Mode, Color Film (for changing colors [clear, blue, green, red]), Pace Control. So if this strobe is still out there for the same $$$ I'd recommend it.
Well choice is yours!
THE AFTERMATH:
So I already wrote this review, but since then (only the 3rd time plugging this mini strobe in) the strobe light blew.
Chauvet does not offer replacement bulbs, however, after I contacted Chauvet through emails, they sent me a brand new 1 free of charge.

I would be concerned with their stability holding anything more than a couple of basic can lights. The knob broke within 1 minute of trying to adjust it. Not worth the money.

(More customer reviews)We bought two for an event in a large venue- a high school gym with 800 people. I knew they were small for that space, but they aren't all that great in smaller spaces either. The rotating effect doesn't project as focused a beam as an incandescent beacon. Therefore, the effect is significantly less dramatic. If I could go back to incandescents, I would. I rate them a 3 because they do have some effect and being able to adjust the speed is nice.

Chauvet Double Derby X Lighting System Review

One of them already broke and the other is hanging on with black duck tape. They are very fragile and you must be very careful with them. I was also hoping the outer shell was metal or a durable plastic. LED is really disappointing me.

If you are a "bedroom DJ" (or raver) or simply a DJ looking to light a small area, this is a wonderful strobe light to have, though if you are looking for a professional strobe light (for use at a rave or large party), I suggest that you look elsewhere.
The strobe is lightweight and small. Very easy to transport.
The only problem I have with this strobe light is the small power cord, so once again...if you're looking for professional lighting equipment, a short power cord probably won't suit your needs (though you can always get an extention cord).
To enjoy the Strobe more, I suggest you check out the colored domes ("Big Shot/D" Model), and also, for the 1-15 flashes per second ability or the strobe, I suggest you find a spot somewhere in the middle for a dizzying effect.

(More customer reviews)I bought this product directly from American DJ. Their shipping and customer service was very good. The product, however, did not look like the picture, but still gives the flame effect I needed for our fireplace display. The Silk Flame had to be shipped to me later because it was missing from the box. It would have been a great product if it worked right. It worked for what we needed, but it was frustrating because the lights would go out with the slightest nudge to the base. I will note that I did buy it at a DISCOUNTED price and the product was advertised as being "blemished." I called American DJ and they assured me it worked and the base was just dented. Maybe if I had bought it brand new it wouldn't have the same problems I had with it? Anyway, I gave it three stars because only one light was working consistently the whole time we needed it. I don't know how reusable it will be because of this. I wish they would come up with a similar product that's a lot more sturdy. Will add a video review later.
