(More customer reviews)Great light and I'm sure it would be even better if I had a DMX controller. I doesn't respond to music by syncing up to the beats, it just turns on when it detects sound and runs through a set program. I also was unable to get the Master/Slave function to work with my other Chauvet lights which sucked. Shipping was great and was properly packaged however it makes a real loud whining sound when it's plugged in, this started after the first few days. It appears to be getting worse and I fear it is only a matter of time before this new unit dies...

Chauvet Led Mushroom Lighting System Review

(More customer reviews)I tried telling someone that the picture was wrong... its still wrong. I kept the mushroom since I only paid the right price for it, but i would have rather paid more to get what i thought it was.

If you do get the MUSHROOM, it has limmeted DMX and is very noisey. It does not move to the beat, it only responds to sound in general. when it turns on from music, it will keep turning for about 6 seconds. If you set the sensitivity up, it will respond to the noise it makes itself and not shut off. I get some complaints about the spinning every once in a while.In a big room, at the right angle, it does look pretty neat.

Chauvet Led Pinspot Lighting System Review

(More customer reviews)If you are used to using one of the old 6 volt pin spots on your mirror ball then you will be a little disappointed in this light. the beam is bright but narrow and it uses very little power but it does seem like it puts out a little less of a show on the mirror ball than the old light. I usually use two of the old style pin spots on the mirror ball anyway so maybe I need two of these as well. It just isn't as bright as one of the old lights. I would have to hold off on recommending this until I see if two of them would really get the job done. It would be ok for something at home or a real small area but not a big room.

Chauvet LX-5 Moonflower LED Light Review

I also have its big brother the J-Five by Chauvet. These are both LED technology and draw very little current. They also run absolutely cool. I have had these both running for ten to twelve hours at a time with no heat buildup whatsoever. No exaggeration, these lights have run for hours and hours. All our previous lighting systems had very limiting duty cycles. These have no duty cycle. Really. They go and go and go.
The LX5 will add a nice mood to a small room (say 15 by 25 for my example).
If you want a real busy rock show, the Chauvet J-Five is where you need to step up to.
These lights are "dumb" meaning they have their own onboard light show or they will sense music and perform to the music (do not use a controller and are stand alone). They have sensitivity knobs to adjust the onboard mic to the level of the music you are playing.
I have to tell you, without exception, these lights hypnotize people. Crank up some music, turn the house lights down and turn on these lights and WOW! It doesn't matter what age music style, anything. People will stop in their tracks and watch these lights. Performing in front of them is the complete opposite. They don't blind you, yet they provide excitement, illumination and excellent mood. I am gushing perhaps, but coming from hot, high current, dangerous old tech lighting, these are not even on the same planet.
In a nutshell, Excellent lights, I am going to buy more of them and also add controllable LED lights.
Purchase these lights and be amazed. Again, if you want mood and have a small room the LX5. If you want a rock show the J-Five, both by Chauvet.

Chauvet Kinta X Lighting System Review

(More customer reviews)Kinta X works well and performs as advertised. Using this item along with one of its halogen counterparts, the Kinta. The cons of the LED version are that it does not have yellow light beams the Kinta has, and its LED beams (red, blue & green) are not as bright as Kinta's halogen beams. The pros of the Kinta X are that it is smaller, weighs less, and produces virtually no heat compared to the extreme heat generated by the Kinta.

Chauvet Heavy Duty Clamp Review

(More customer reviews)So I wanted the best clamps, and decided on these "Heavy Duty" ones. They are crazy strong and heavy... you may not need something this tough. I bet most everyone can get away with using the lighter duty clamps by Chauvet. Although, I'm very happy with them, you might be able to save money with the cheaper ones. You can also just buy bolts with wing nuts at your local Hardware store and use these with the same outcome.
There's no messing around with these clamps, they can probably hold a hundred pounds.

Chauvet CIRRUS Review

(More customer reviews)Just got my Chauvet Cirrus and am in awe of the effects it produces. The other review is correct about the sound active mode, it turns on the red or green lasers or both with the beats of the music while the blue background LED 'wash' is on constantly. This light should be set where you can get to the control panel as the effects are adjustable from fast to slow motion and how long each laser is on. A remote control would be an excellent addition even if it was wired to the unit. The thing I did not like and that resulted in the 4 stars rating is the external power supply; these are always a problem when doing a show and you need to plug into power bars where it covers other valuable outlets. They also can get damaged or lost easily and lowers the quality of the light to a toy level. I was only unhappy with the external power supply because the other Chauvet Scorpion lasers I have are much better built.
Don't look at the box or the toy power supply but do look at the wonderful display this puts out and be amazed. Unique and beautiful and fills a large area. Highly recommended.

Chauvet LED Rain 64 - RGB spot Review

I knew it would not be as powerful due to the smaller LEDs, but thought it would have a nice wash effect for architectural lighting. It did not work great as an uplight, but it does look nice on truss or light tree. This would probably work great in a location where a stationary spot is needed, but in that situation, why waste the extra money on leds unless you are looking for enery efficiency or heat reduction.

American DJ Tri Gem LED Powered Colored Moonflower Review

(More customer reviews)I am relatively new to performing with my own lights, so I purchased two of these with a few other led lights to get me started. I placed these as well as an H2O led and a sunray tri led on a 10 foot eliminator truss system. While these lights do work well, with three different motion modes and they run very cool all night, they left me with something to be desired. The Tri Gem LED setup was always described online and on the box as being able to display Red, Green, Blue, Purple, Yellow, Cyan & White, however on both of these units, it simply is not the case. The led lights do not line up to overlap each other to give you the full color range. Instead, when the light is trying to display a color other than Red Green or Blue, it shows multiple color beams instead of one. Although this is not a deal breaker for me, it was pretty disappointing when I was expecting to see 7 colors and not just 3.
Also, be careful when judging the light based on pictures you might see. One of the pictures that I saw made it seem like the light created a circle pattern, but it does not. So the picture must have been taken while moving and gave it motion blur.

(More customer reviews)This is a great light for the price. A lot of different configuration options. Several auto modes and 2-7 channel DMX operation. Very bright too, brighter colors than a standard incandescent PAR46 with gels. Makes a very tight spot. 4 out of 5 because up close the different colors are noticeable in the light beam.

American DJ Dual Gem Pulse LED Powered Effect Light Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this DJ Dual Gem Pulse along with the American DJ Vertigo Tri LED Powered Effect Light and American DJ Mini Fog 400 W Fog Machine With Remote And Pint Of Fog Juice. I spoke with my friend who DJs at the local bars in the area and he recommended the Vertigo and Dual Gem lights as good starts for my home setup.
I'd say he was spot on with the Vertigo and fog machine, not so much with the Dual Gem Pulse. I'm happy with the light as a secondary light to the Vertigo. The issue is the Dual Gem Pulse doesn't have much variation in its moonflower light pattern. Compared to the Vertigo, the light variation appears repetitive. The spread of the moonflower light pattern doesn't fill the room. Also, the "strobe" in the middle isn't really a "strobe." It's just a square of individual white LEDs that flash on and off. The effect isn't that of a strobe, where things seem to freeze in motion. Luckily the "strobe" has an on off button, so this isn't a deal breaker. I almost always leave the "strobe" off.
Pros:
- LED light. This is VERY important because you can run the light continuously. DJ lights that aren't LED have to be turned off after as little as 10-15 minutes to cool off. That's a major pain.
- Same stuff the pros use for an affordable price
- Well constructed, made of durable metal components
- Mounting bracket to hang the light up if you want
- Low power consumption
Cons:
- Not really a "strobe"
- Lighting isn't that varied
- Limited spread of the lights in a room
- Not much color variation, only red, green and blue

Lamplite LL-Par38LEDY Yellow LED Flood Lamp Medium Screw Base Review

(More customer reviews)If you are tired of blowing fuses using Halogen bulbs, these LED floods are a viable alternative. While not as bright as a Halogen flood, you can put 8 of these on a truss, and use less power than one 150 watt Halogen bulb. They cost more than Halogen, but with a life of 50,000 hours, they will pay for themselves over time. The biggest benefit is that they produce virtually no heat, which is a huge plus for performing musicians. The only downside is that these bulbs are not dimmable, but otherwise perform great.
