(More customer reviews)I got a pair of these because I was done renting speakers for DJ gigs. The price is really good, similar to that of behringer or harbinger and other cheaper brands, but they are very good quality. They are loud and have good sound, full 3 channel eq, peak light, and xlr out to link speakers, just like any good powered speaker. They're not quite JBL eons, but for the price I am verry happy with them. It's also really nice how the stand and xlr cables are included, those can get expensive when you have to buy them by themselves. The cables are also very good, much better than the cheap ones I got with my old Behringer PA system. My only complaint about the cables are at 50' long each, they can get quite tangled, but other than that they are fine.
HOWEVER... One of the 2 speakers does not work.
I've had bad luck with Amazon before (broken ADJ light, headphones with feedback on bass, V7 with strip search issues) and this purchase adds another thing to the list. the 1st thing I noticed when I pulled the speaker out of the box was the blue power light did not turn on. I thought this wasn't a big deal, since it's just 1 LED, but after about 5 minutes of putting sound through the speaker, it just died. Now only a very faint sound comes out of the compression driver, the woofer does not respond to any signal. I've read about similar problems with the speaker before, so it might be a common occurrence. However, tech support was very helpful. It ships from onlyfactorydirect. I called the number for returns, anticipating a long wait (I'm used to dealing with Numark support), but they picked up after less than 1 minute. They were very understanding and are shipping a new unit to me right away. I might have to rent 1 speaker 1 last time, as I have a gig on Saturday, but other than that support was very good.
I give it 4 stars because it is a very good speaker, especially for the price, but from what I've read and now from personal experience, there are a fair amount of defective units
