(More customer reviews)It does transfer tapes and vinyl to .wav, and then to CD. The included Audacity software doesn't deal well with old vinyl, but does handle tape cassettes well. Hook-up is fairly easy if you have some background. It is certainly cheaper than some equivalents (RadioShack has an $80 version). If you're patient and have the time to coax the software into performing properly, it's a useful thing to have.
