(More customer reviews)After weeks of cruising audiophile forums and reading countless reviews, I finally settled on trying Audio Technica's AT120/E cartridge. I could not believe my ears! To spare you the typical audiophile lingo, I will put it simple. This cartridge sounds and performs as good as if not better than my other cartridges that cost upwards of $400! No joke. The clarity,crisp highs and mids, warm and rich punchy bass, superb tracking, and excellent imaging is not what one would normally expect from a cart in this price range. This is truly a hidden gem. Everything is nicely produced. Nothing is harsh, or abrasive as other carts in this price range are known for. This cart produces beautifully.I highly recommend this cartridge for digitizing your vinyl collection and/or for everyday listening pleasure. Do yourself a favor....dust off that old turntable, get this cartridge, clean up them old albums, and enjoy music at its finest. Long live vinyl!
EDITED(5/9/11): I made no mention of inner-grove distortion in my initial review and I thought it needed mentioning. This is the ONLY cartridge that I own out of 5 (price ranged $70-$385) that has no notable distortion. The inner-grooves(songs) sound just as vibrant and musical as the first. Just make sure that you properly align your cartridge (I use the Stevenson method) and you will not be disappointed. Again....a true gem.
