(More customer reviews)I picked up one of these recently and it was a huge improvement so far from the stock cartridge.
It has a pretty good sensitivity, I didn't need a preamp for my M-Audio AV-30s (which have some amplification built in) like I did with my old unit, though I do recommend getting a pre-amp if for any reason you don't already have one as it is better for anything other than a small environment.
The Equalization on this is pretty good, though as stated it does have more emphasis on the bass but not so much that is ruins casual listening for non-hip hop or club music (for which it is made). It also has had no issues on Frequency response, I have played records featuring low bass and extreme highs in the same songs (Muse, Daft Punk) and everything was caught, and the bass emphasis made things a little nicer for the subtle bass without sending it way too high, though the bass issue is in the end also a preference of the listener.
Installing a cartridge for those who don't know is fairly simple, and a beginner to tables can do it pretty easily (this won't plug right in to the tone arm like the stock cartridge that probably came with the given table, but it replaces the cartridge on the tip so you will need a screwdriver if the old cartridge has anything other than the screw type this unit uses).
Tracking has been pretty good, and it handles slightly warped records I have pretty well as it doesn't need much weight to get good audio like my older cartridge.
Of the cartridges easily obtained both online and locally, this one is great - there is only one that I might consider instead, but it is double the price and the only reason I would is that it has a completely FLAT EQ.
I also tend to check my email notifications for replies to comments in case anyone else has other notes.
