(More customer reviews)My first fogger was a cheap one. I paid $40 for it and it was very noise and instead of fog it was more like a mist. This fogger, let's just say that you get what you pay for! It is big and a bit heavy, about 26 to 30 pounds with fog juice. This is a proffesional fogger. Noise level compare to the cheap model is a night and day difference. I used it non-stop for 7 hours displacing a fog cycle about every 15-20 minutes and it did not use even a quarter of the fog juice tank. It is also great to be able to remove the fog juice tank, lights that switch from blue to red during operation and automatic shut off when it runs out of juice. Allthough, if you fill the tank I sincerely doubt that you will use a full gallon in anyone time party. I loved this fogger, specially that I can adjust the nozzle direction so that I can place it in places that other foggers can't. If you want that proffessional quality fog with a rich thick white cloud of fog, this is the one. You won't be disappointed. Please use the right fog juice. I used the Chauvet premium fog juice which is a bit expensive but I wanted the best. Try it with the American Dj Galaxian laser and you will be the talk of the town.

My wife found one at Walmart for $12, I looked at it and said "NO WAY" ! I decided to spend some money and I'm glad I did. When it came to the door I opened it, filled it and turned it on in the house. Our dining room has wood floors and within 3 minutes our little girl was skating on a sheet of bubbles. This CRANKS them out! It shot bubbles out on a pattern of about 8' wide and blew them back about 30', maybe more if I kept it running longer? Can't wait for the weather to warm up and take it outside in the yard.

(More customer reviews)This thing hazes my two car garage with thick fog, in about 30 seconds after the 4 minute warmup. And the Fog is very long lasting, shut it off after the 30 seconds, and the fog stayed in the room for at least 30 minutes.
Timer is really nice so you can set how often then fog will be released, and also in what volume. You can also have it constant instead of timed.
Can provide just the right amount of fog that you need for your light show, No Hassles!

(More customer reviews)The output on this is great. The safety of the auto shut off for low fog juice is indispensible. This is a multi-day multi-season fogger. Remember to use fog cleaner when storing off-season. Buy the timer remote. It makes a huge difference. The machine is a bit loud.

(More customer reviews)not worth the 40.00 i paid for it. Its kind of poorly constructed. It makes smoke, but the smoke smells. I guess thats normall, but it says that its for use indoors, but i cant because itll make the house smell. The inside of the machine is poorly insulated and the wiring is way off. When they say dont leave it outside, dont, because the wire connections are not covered. I was not happy with this item, and i had to send my first one back, because the wires were smoking and melting the plastic. It said it was inspected on the inside, but it obviously was never plugged in. Overall, dont buy it, spend the extra money on a really good one.

First of all, you cannot fault the machine for producing a fog that does not cling to the ground. That is a chemical property related to the temperature of the vapor, so if you want low clinging fog, you need to build a cheap chiller extension unit (google or you-tube "fog machine chiller" for more info) and cool the vapor so that it is colder than the surrounding air. This can be done with a foam cooler and ice for under $10. Second, I have a feeling some people did not realize that you have to depress the button on the machine to produce fog. It will not automatically put out fog every couple minutes. Many cheap machines are like this, but at least this one has a remote.
I used the fog machine on my walkway for halloween. Keep in mind weather plays a big role--it was a warm california night with very little wind so the fog clung to the air and was slow to dissipate. This thing puts out so much fog, that at one point a car driving down the street had to stop and crawl through 40 feet of dense fog that was billowing from my house. I would depress the button on the remote for ~20 seconds, then wait a couple minutes for the machine to recover and repeat. The fog billowed out from my walkway in thick clouds and even though it didn't stay on the ground, it made the entire street smoky and still produced an eerie effect. The trick or treaters loved it, and even though I had the machine pumping out fog for 2 hours straight, I still have half a container of fog juice left.
The instructions specifically say not to use another brand of fog juice. This annoys me, because this brand of fog had a chemical odor to it and there is no way you could use this on a dance floor or where people had to breathe it in. A few trick or treaters coughed and complained about walking through the smoke, so I did not depress the button if people were walking up the walkway. Next year I am going to attach a DIY chiller to the front of the machine which will help the fog stay low to the ground. But I will say that wetting the walkway and grass midway through the night made a big difference in the fog's clinging power.
Would I buy this machine again? Its a pretty decent machine for the money. For $40 I wasn't expecting much, but if this machine did break I would probably spend a little more money and get a better one that automatically dispersed the fog at set intervals, and one with a better reputation for reliability.

(More customer reviews)I have had two WalMart fog machines. They both worked reasonably well, for the price, but neither machine lasted longer than two years. I used them at home, not commercially. I was tired of dealing with the WM machines and did research on machines built by companies that specailze in fog machines for commercial use. This one fit for me. It was priced just slightly higher than the retail store machines shipping was free! It arived in about a week and it kicks but in the fog department. Puts out plenty of fog, is very quiet and the fog juice tank even lights up. I used it a few times over the last few weeks and I really like it. I had no problem totally filling my whole living room up with fog so thick I literally could not see through it. Good customer support from Chauvet as I called with a few questions. So we will see how long this one lasts but if you want an economical fog machine at a reasonable price this is a good one to look into.

(More customer reviews)This fog machine is good for a small production or party use. I used it to simulate a volcano eruption with excellent effect. Here are some of the answers to questions I had before I bought the machine. Hope this will help you:
1. The size of the machine is 8.5" x 6" x 6"
2. There is a bottle in the back where you pour the fog juice in
3. On the right side, there is a slot, so you can see the level of the liquid
4. On the left side, on top is the plug in for the remote control; below that is the fuse; and on the bottom is the power cable.
5. The power cable is 6' long
6. The remote control has a 10' long cable. On the remote control, there is a light on top with an on/off switch on the bottom.
7. According to the specs, the container in the fog machine can hold 1 pint of juice.
8. To create fog, fill the tank with juice, plug in the machine, in about 4 minutes the light on the remote control will light up, signaling the machine is hot enough to use. Press and hold the spring loaded on/off switch will release fog from the nozzle.
9. When the juice is heated up, you can release 40 seconds of fog before it need to reheat the element again, which takes about 3 minutes.
10. I have filled half the tank with juice, it lasted me for a good hour of use.
Note: Some people complained that this machine plugged up after couple of use. Try this: dump out the juice and fill it with water. Heat up the machine again and press the button until steam comes out. This will clean the nozzle of juice and it will be ready for the next use.

I have installed this inside my mini-van (it is powered by an inverter,) still there is not enough density in the fog generated even in such a small space. also the fog has this slight burnt odor. I am hoping the odor will subside in time. The unit needs a good 5 min to heat up before use. Subsequent uses are much quicker once element inside is hot. Would i recommend it? If your on a budget then yes sure, else find a slightly larger unit.
The unit has a wired remote included which makes life a lot easier. Includes almost 8ft of remote cable.

I also understand that because foam snow machines are basically foam BLOWERS, there is a limit to how quiet they could be. That being said, this one does not live up to the promise of being a quieter ("silent") snow machine. I did not find it to make any less noise than comparable machines.

The bottom line, I would not buy it again and would not recommend it to others.
First, product specifications do not appear to represent the unit accurately.
Examples:
* 1,700W High output professional fog machine
Wrong, with 116V (Pulls the 120V wall voltage down to 116V) input mine draws 1448 Watts while heating and goes up to 1508 W when making fog.
1500W I could have bought another brand 1500W machine for less money. A call to American DJ (A DJ) revealed these units vary from 1460 W to 1700 W. So mine is considered within acceptable power range.
* Electronic Thermo Sensing (ETS): electronic heater stays hot at all times with no warm-up time between fog blasts
Wrong, mine outputs fog for 15 seconds then has to reheat for 68 seconds before it can output again. A call to American DJ revealed I got a better one, most only output fog for 13 seconds before needing to stop and reheat.
* 15,000 Cubic feet per minute fog output
Yeah right, if it could fog continuously for 60 seconds it might have a chance. But since it only outputs fog for 15 seconds before needing to stop and reheat for 68 seconds, there is no way this rate could be true. Even assuming all mfgs weasel on the cu ft / min number, as in how dense is the fog each is claiming to measure, if you can't run for a minute you don't make 15,000 per minute.
Add to this customer service that doesn't call back with answers when they say they will, and email asking ADJ how the machine should be prepared for storage going unanswered.
Combined makes me say, move on, this is not the fog machine you are looking for.
