GLS Audio 3ft Patch Cable Cords - XLR Male To XLR Female Black Cables - 3' Balanced Snake Cord - 6 PACK Review

Why buy 3 pairs of 2 ea 3' male to female XLR patch cables? In this case, its the value.
First take a good look at the cable zoom in pic - top shelf stuff and none of this quickie engineering "dozzzzzz it work at all" stuff that is the thickness of a pencil lead. This leads to fantastic audio reproduction.
Second, how many times have you ended up using a 50' XLR cable meant for FOH snakes when all you needed was to interconnect 2 items in a rack? Sure it's temporary, but for under $5 you can get your temporary cables back where they belong and use 3' cables in the rack to interlink EQs, wireless mics, and all those discounted things that omitted the cable.
Finally, I often build custom cables, like an XLR to a 2.5 mm TS male (try finding that one anywhere - I had to machine the 2.5 mm metal connector to accept the cable from the xlr end). What I like about these connectors is they hold on tight to the smallest cable, yet come apart in seconds with just an unscrewing of the outermost cap (make sure it goes on your new cable in the reverse order of course to save fustration). This design lets me unsolder an XLR end - either one - and replace it with something more useful for the job like a 1/4 TRS or my oddball 2.5mm TS end that I needed one day. As a starting place, these cables save time because 75% of what you are building is finished - you just add the final connector for a custom job even if its way out there. (the 2.5 mm was a LINE level output from a radio receiver used to record undercover police activity)
Get the price down to 4.77 a piece for the cables and it's a no brainer because I pay $2.50 each for the XLR connectors alone at the discount audio store.
Put all this together and it's a value proposition - a useful quantity of 3' high quality interconnects (and not those blasted long xlr plugs that don't come apart until you first poke a screwdriver through your hand) - a good price - a good quantity - free 2 day shipping - and my rack will look much nicer when the temporary cables are yanked and replaced with these. I might even consider one of these cables for my "reporter's briefcase" - a hard plastic case for my pmd-661 recorder Marantz PMD661 Portable SD Recorder with just a small mouse hole I milled out for the xlr and remote cables to exit Marantz RC600 Microphone Remote for PMD660 and PMD671, PMD570. At 3' it's just the right length for a small microphone to come out of the case and into the hand with the remote control wrapped around the mic.
My guess is once I use all these up, I'll be back for a second set of cables

Crown XTI 4000 Digital Power Amplifier, 3200 Watts Review

Crown XTI 4000 Digital Power Amplifier, 3200 Watts
Average Reviews:

I own a small sound company. I started buying the XTI line of amps when they were introduced. There was a problem with some of the amps during the early production run but that was several years ago. That bug was fixed. The amps would lose one side of a stereo program or start cutting in and out. I have not seen this on any of the amps I have purchased since then. I have four XTI 4000 amps. I drive JBL MRX cabs and monitors with them as well as EAW LA400 subs. The amps are lightweight and provide a nice power source without sucking up amps and tripping breakers. The on-board Digital Signal Processing is outstanding. I use DBX DriveRacks to process my system so I don't use the amp's DSPs. You can also network the amps and run the DSPs with a laptop if you wish. Crown offers several free software packages on their website. Band manager is a nice program.
In conclusion this is one of most popular amps with the DJs and smaller live sound companies. I don't have crew to lug around hundreds of pounds of amps nor do my venues have a power distro where I could plug in multiple 20-amp monster amps. These amps do the job and are worth every penny.

Behringer EPX2000 Professional 2000-Watt Light Weight Stereo Power Amplifier with Atr (Accelerated Transient Response) Technology Review

After thorough research on multiple websites I determined that the Behringer EPX200 was the right amp for my situation. The applied situation for this amplifier is for a fraternity house sound system. So, I emphasize the word rugged in the title, haha. It's been almost a month now and this amp is put through its paces multiple times throughout the week. It's powering two Nady 500 watt speakers and they sound great. This amp puts out plenty of power, and the limiter switch on the back is great because it keeps people from doing harm to the amp or the speakers who don't know how to use it. Seriously, even in a large room, this amp pumps out the sound.

If you are reading this and wonder what Amp offer a satisfying result without branking the bank this is it, and if you are new to Deejaying and wonder if the investment is worth it. the answer is YES. Having a low quality amp is like driving a car with a flat tire, you'll get nowhere. I paid $499 for my XTi-2000 worth every penny.

I am happy to say this pushes my MTX tp2400's which consist of 4 12" woofers and 2 horn tweeters. They require 400 watts a side continous at 4 ohm. Little to No distotion :) The quality is great and the inputs are so flexible. I love the way I can patch them all together eliminating a mixer all together :) Highly recommended. They run so cool I cant even feel warmth. I dont know what that other guy is talking about, his was probably faulty or broken.

Crown Xls 602 1200 Watt Power Amplifier Review

Crown Xls 602 1200 Watt Power Amplifier
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The XLS Series is placed by Crown Audio as an affordable alternative to their best selling (but expensive) iTech series quality power amplifiers. The XLS 602 is the top most model in this series. XLS 402 and XLS 202 come next. The 850 W (2-Ohm Stereo) per channel amplifier will be sufficient to power almost anything that is used by professionals. If you are looking for cost effective but quality solution for your amplification needs, this is the best product to go for. You can start by installing one amplifier and later can add more due to stackable nature of this series. XLS 602 comes with standard protection like: output current limiting, DC protection, thermal protection for transformers, circuit breaker etc. The forced-air-cool fans provide excellent protection from excessive thermal buildup. It keeps the box cool even after playing it for more than 12 hours non-stop on full load (My personal experience). I used this product for more than 2 years, and never had any problem with it. Also, these amplifiers come with Three years international warranty (Comprehensive and Transferable). The sound quality and performance is superb and sometimes makes you think that is it really worth to spend couple of more thousand $s on more expensive brand/model when you are getting everything from this price. The build quality is typically Crown..rock-solid! No wonder why most mobile Djs opt for Crown amplifiers. At US$ 620, this is worth every single dollar spent.

QSC GX3 Stereo Power Amplifier Review

QSC GX3 Stereo Power Amplifier
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I started looking around for a performance power amp that was in between crown and Behringer. Now while I consider Crown the holy grail of power amps, I didn't feel like spending the cash for the Harley-Davidson of power amps. So when looking, I actually took a look at parts express and their most popular power amps. To me, the majority of the people that visit that site have their head screwed on straight and care about quality products. While a lot of the reviews showed promise for Behringer, my cousin and I currently employ a tube based preamp in my studio, and while it worked flawlessly in the beginning, all the pot's on my preamp are now fuzzy and buzzy. His preamp sucked from day one, buzzing at 60Hz, requiring post process filtering which saps the nuances out of the recording. To sum up my opposition to Behringer, I didn't feel like getting a product that worked well for a year or two, though I just bought a Behringer 8-channel mixer to go with it ($60 and not regretting it yet, but we'll see)
Hooking it up to my 6.5" jbl studio s26-ii's, I was blown away by its punch and clarity. Mind you, its normally being driven by an 80W/ch Onkyo (0.08%THD). The speakers had more dynamic to the sound, and it was absolutely fantastic. I had done this while I awaited the arrival of my MTX PA speakers.
I bought a pair of MTX TP2400 to go along with it. They are definitely not the greatest speaker out there, but they put out the high SPL sound I was looking for in a live performance. The amplifier drives them pretty well, though I cant help but be slightly disappointed with the result. I am confident that the amp is not the culprit though due to how well it has driven my other smaller studio speakers.
I think these cheap PA speakers really show the beauty of the amp though, Its speaker/clipping protection made the music stay at uninterrupted high levels. The other great thing is the 6 year transferable warranty. While I don't really care too much about warranties, Behringer's abysmal 1 year warranty pushed me over to QSC. That's pretty much saying what I think about my current products, they know its too risky to warranty a product longer than a year.
I hope you find this info useful, because these guys deserve every sale they get.

Technical Pro TA-4250 2 Channel 4250 Watt Amplifier (Black) Review

Technical Pro TA-4250 2 Channel 4250 Watt Amplifier (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am not an audiophile or anything of that type. I use a Technical Pro HB-2501U connected to this amp. They power four Cerwin Vega Re-30s. Or attempt to.
I love the ease of set up for TPro products, the appearance, and the technical specs... but their specs are slightly inflated. As most manufacturers do, the wattage is vastly overstated. I would rate this power amp as putting out around 50-60 WPC, instead of the 70-80WPC it was rated at. Ditto for the receiver, but that's a different story.
I roll Cerwin Vegas because I'm looking for loud sound - frat house abuse - and these Re30s are easily up to the task. However, this Tpro amp is not. Honestly, neither is the receiver and in the near future I will be replacing both, leaving me with a couple hundred wasted bucks. Beside the point.
In usage over the last two weeks, I have had several opportunities to stress test the amp. Playing bass heavy music for several hours, four or more each time, at very loud volumes. It started clipping almost immediately once raised past the half-point mark on either channel. In addition, five separate times in the last two weeks one channel has ceased working entirely. After shutting it down for several hours, normal operations were restored and both channels provided power again. I'm not sure what the problem is, but I assume that one channel gets overloaded and resets because of insufficient capacity. I replaced the fuse on the once.
Essentially, what I'm saying is that this speaker provides a decent power output for a mid level-low level application, but if you are attempting to simply boom a party, as I am, this amp will not provide the power, even for one speaker - at least in stereo mode (I have yet to test it in bridge mode, because I need to buy another power amp first). The tech specs for it are vastly overstated. It's okay for the money, but its not what I was looking for and if you are actually looking for something that actually puts out the stated power, look elsewhere. Adcom, King, any other tried and true companies with the huge heavy capacitors... I'd stick to those instead of these. Just my two semi-informed cents from a 23 year old grad student. I do like TPro, but the products I have tested are not up to the challenge. It's unfortunate.
